  1. A very successful and busy day today. Installed 3 fingerposts by lunchtime so hitched up the trailer and went and knocked some hedge back of a footpath in time for the school run. We found a pair of massive Poplars with equally massive cavities whilst installing a fingerpost.
  2. We floured an apprentice a couple of years ago for forgetting fuel for the chainsaws. Cleaned off one of recent ones boots off with the industrial pressure washer as they were dirty. He claimed they were 100% waterproof, i proved otherwise. Locked one in the container with a load of bangers. Chucked a stinkbomb in one of there cars lol. Just small stuff at the moment but the Kevin Bloody wilson song has given me ideas:lol:
  3. Nice start to the week. Treated my Blackthorn pleacher to some linseed oil which brought the colours out nicely. Took a look up on our container to see why it was leaking at the door end. Think we need a new container or need to build a roof.
  4. Just a few pics from the past couple of weeks. Nothing much to report
  5. Thats a bit close to home. Will keep my ears on the ground just incase anything crops up in the area.
  6. This crazy fool. Cycled to a shoot on it yesterday. Had a few squeaky bum time moments, mainly when i had to negotiate bends and parked cars. Was good for a bit of drifting until the front wheel started to let go. Was rather impressed only fell off once but saw some poor sod on his road racing bike go skittering across the same piece of road i was going to navigate. I got off to see if he was ok. Luckily he was and thanked me for stopping.
  7. Local river is currently of flood alert as it has exceeded bankful conditions further upstream. It was rising rather well this morning.
  8. Blowing like a gooden tonight complete with heavy rain. Not on call tonight but will be checking the trees in the morning for the guys.
  9. The problem appeared again but all the cables were still secure. We dropped the chipper into Landpower Machinery who found the problem to be a corroded C-Top valve.
  10. We swapped the switches round this morning and found a loose/worn wire inside one of the switches. We stripped it back to fresh wire and reconnected it all and it worked fine. The wires which went to the green switch had a bit of corrosion and had a few stray bits of copper wire which looked to have touched the bolts which held the switches in place. Its all running now as it should.
  11. We have an intermittent issue with the green button on our TW150. Occasionally when the stress feed kicks in the rollers stop so we put the rollers into reverse and push the green button but nothing happens. After a few attempts of pushing the blue and green button the rollers start up again and carry on as per normal. We have checked the connectors underneath and sprayed them with WD40 to iradicate any moisture that may be in there. It is stored outside in all weathers and has done just over 900 hours.
  12. Nope just the differential. Will change the half shafts whilst its there.
  13. Not showing much love for the landy at the moment. Was out with dad today when the truck started to vibrate like a sod. Suddenly it stopped went silent and the trade mark sound of metal gears grinding. As we puleld into the layby we knew what it was as the rear axle suddenly locked up, broke free and then locked again. New rear differential required. The main drive cog has split into 8 pieces and the force of it lock and unlocking has buggered both sides of the casing... Happy new year everyone lol
  14. Shes about to blow i recon. Brackets all the way upto that Stazi eared union is a recipe for disaster.
  15. Just a few pics of the unbelievable frost we've had the past few days. So nice to walk out the door to a crisp air. Caught the kingfisher again in the same spot i saw him last time just downstream this time.
  16. Not today me old mucker. Couldnt get a decent vantage point. Massive turnout (approx 3000 this year) The pub/hotel that they used the car park of as the paddock was sodden sold out of mulled cider lol. So they brought round mulled wine instead.
  17. Hmm another limb for a reduction. May get the whole tree reduced by a few metres spotting this lovely hazard beam. It has appeared in the last 48 hours too.
  18. Spotted more cracks on the neighboring Beeches this afternoon. May have an Oak needing to have a reduction too but will get pics of that tomorrow.
  19. Another job jobbed. Only hacking back brambles away from an access path to the back of peoples properties.
  20. Lush day walking some rights of way with a colleague in sturminster newton and the surrounding area. On one of the paths we walked through a field with a herd of British White cattle. A mix of Bullocks, heifers and older cows. Even saw a siege of Herons too.
  21. Gutted i cant be there tonight lads. My transport conked out on me about half way. Sounded terminal. Will be there for next year fellas. Having some scrumpy tonight.
