  1. Just a quick update about vehicle numbers. The absolute maximum is 6 vehicles. At the moment we have our 110, friends Disco, Will Timberlake, Jon aka Mendiplogs and Ward.S, So have room for 1 more vehicle as it stands. PM me if your up for it.
  2. Gorgeous weather all day. Now the heavens are opening up again. The local Stour is on the rise after yesterdays rainfall so will be very close to topping the banks in places tuesday or Weds.
  3. Been listening to Staind recently. Fell in love with this track when i first heard it on youtube [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FjvQKPYqeg&list=HL1384117366]Staind - "Eyes Wide Open" - YouTube[/ame]
  4. Some shots of a very helpful and still Kingfisher. Even the camera crews were impressed with how still it was..
  5. Saw the dog this afternoon which was cool, especially when i saw him swim down river with a pike in his mouth.
  6. Not a bad day despite the torrential rain first thing. The birds flew extremely well and the keeper gave me an extra £20 for saving the first drive of the day. He couldn't see half the drive trying to escape on our side of the ridge and the topside flanker wouldn't move. So got the running legs on and went wide. Got the birds back into the drive, i could only see about 20 heads popping up and down out of the turnips but moved about 200 birds according to the keeper. The keeper pointed to me after the drive and said that he wants to see more of what i did in the beating line. I have been taught to react to a problem then tell the keeper, not to watch the problem escalate into a disaster then ask if it ok to move. Back there next weds but with my trusted Miroku 12 bore
  7. Yup wash-in but also sprayed the coat but it didnt work:001_huh:
  8. Pishing it down all day. River is on the rise with more rain tonight. Can see the bridge jobs coming in next week:001_rolleyes:
  9. Ah ok. Will spread my horizons further as Nikwax didn't work on our coats. If anything it made them worse:lol:
  10. We have two sherwood coats for the colder days, a seeland and a Lavenir all of which leak. We did the nikwax wash in thing and it worked for all of 5 mins. Anything heavier than drizzle and they leaked.
  11. After today i have realised that i need to re-waterproof my coat. Has anyone heard of using Thompsons Watershield to waterproof coats? If so does it work?
  12. Hello folks We have a lot of winter work to do in Gillingham coming up which will involve a few trailer loads of chip a day. Would anyone up that neck of the woods be willing to accept our Willow, Alder, Oak and Poplar chip for Beer tokens? Any help would be gratefully received as will be a 6x8x4ft tipper full and wouldn't be too keen carting it back to Blanny to tip it. Cheers in advance:thumbup:
  13. Was thinking the clutch cable has snapped as dad said the pedal was getting lower and lower before it disengaged then bit about 1/2 inch up off the bottom. today it went bang before he started it. Master cylinder has gone by the sounds of it as no cable there.
  14. My fellow landy nuts. Dad went to take the landy out this morning and the pedal hit the floor. The spring is fine but i think the clutch cable has snapped where it joins the pedal between the spring clamps. Any ideas gents?
  15. Yet another corking day. The wind today was ideal for all the drives. Only had one hiccup when one of our reliable drives had 10 birds in it not the usual 100 it has. The result of a hard days beating. One extremely pooped springer. He was on the go all day and worked like a champ:thumbup: Got another day on sat on a shoot i have shot but never beat on
  16. Yup still on mate. Will be doing lanes that we know we can do without chewing them up too much. Will be going slow and steady so everyone can keep up.
  17. Heard Smile Empty Soul the other morning on Radio 2 (i was shocked too). Soon followed by Evanesence "Bring me to Life". If only Radio 2 could play songs like that every morning. 18. Looked about 18 inches deep at its deepest point. I think the plan will be whoever doesnt have a snorkel sticks up the ass of someone who does. We have a snorkel and will be leading so as long as the person without a snorkel keeps about 6 ft behind there wont be a problem.
  19. Good man. Just had an update from a mate who drove it today. Its scratchy but he turned around when he saw the main puddle.
  20. Tons in Dorset. Ranging from tiny ones to Damson sized monsters. Got two lots on the go.
  21. Subject to it not being closed. Yup we will be.
  22. Its confirmed the plains are out of bounds at the end of the month. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/245465/spta_newsletter_oct2013.pdf
  23. The resulting storm damage on our flagship site in town. It took a hammering thats for sure.
  24. Nothing exciting to report apart from lots of storm damaged trees on the sites. Some sites got hit hard others not so. Today we had a team of volunteers clearing sods off a gravel path with shovels as the roots would have been damaged by a digger. Was a good few hours work but i had to show them each time what we needed to achieve. We didn't want to dig down just take the top 1/2 inch off but that was hard to grasp for a couple of them.
