  1. My supervisor looks so happy:lol::lol: Must be a riveting email
  2. Saw mum n the two kits again this afternoon. Got a couple of corking shots of the mum and one of a kit in the halt. In the fourth pic guess the fish in the mums mouth.
  3. Load mate n yup. Once the weather dries out sufficiently we are going to re do the sections which were damaged. I have suggested about using a concrete/path gravel mix so it is even more flood resistant.
  4. Had a great day. At lunch i was on 18 birds for 19 shots. So was called dead eye dick all afternoon. Only fired 8 cartridges all afternoon. 2 of them were at a fox i dropped stone dead in the field.
  5. Got our old DR in the dealer being looked at. It sounded like it dropped a valve and stopped dead. They haven't stripped the head yet but there was bits of piston in the oil which doesnt look good. Our BCS so far (touches wood) has been good. Still backfiring as she usually does when worked hard.
  6. I always use FOB standard 32 gram 5s fibre wad. Always have done and will bring anything down. Proved a point last season when i brought a teal down at 80 yards with 1 shot with them.
  7. Didn't get any pics sadly as was standing all day on wed. I think dad is picking up tomorrow so will be chucking him my camera to get some pics as well as him taking pics on his.
  8. Was chipping out in the rain in bridport this morning. Was belting it down at about 10 onwards and hasn't stopped. We just cracked on and got the chipping done. All finished and home by 2.
  9. Bought myself a pair of these beauties off the bay. So so comfy. Much more comfortable than the husky ones.
  10. Trouble is alot of people assume dogs have the same rights as people on a public right of way but they don't. The stiles we put in are as close as to the BS spec as possible so unless a dog gate is requested by the landowner, they wont be put in. We only put a stile in if the landowner doesn't want to pay for a gate or if a gap isn't possible due to livestock.
  11. Corking day today. Didn't get any pics as was standing all day and didnt get chance to. We had 107 pheasant, 8 woodcock, 4 pigeon, 3 jay and a squirrel. Dad shot the squirrel on the first drive as it leapt from a drey to a neighboring tree. I had the first pigeon for the first shot of the day. It was about 60 yards up. Fingers crossed i can keep my form until saturday.
  12. Got my first beaters day tomorrow at a farm shoot which i haven't missed a day and saved a few days. We have had a couple of good days before but i have a funny feeling the keeper will do his trick last season and put his mates in the top spots and some beaters on the edges. I would rather stand one, beat one but its upto him. Lots of pics to follow tomorrow.
  13. E.G Coles down the road from you are a good place. Its where we get our kubota serviced.
  14. Red for a fry up, brown for a butty/bap, tartar for fish n chips, Sweet chilli n red for belly pork slices.
  15. We have a site in Stalbridge and every dead twig on the floor has it.
  16. There are alot of woods near me that have had alot of trees go over due to the ground being so wet. There is a pine/fir wood which was thinned last winter and there is about 150 trees on the floor and about another 50 hung up or loosened from the last bout of winds. The keeper won't let us go in there due to the risk factor as some of the hung up trees are falling over on still days.
  17. Got this big boy to contend with soon. Thankfully i know a local farm hand who works on the land to the right of the fallen tree who is helping us out with his dads JCB Fastrac and a gurt PTO/Hydraulic winch to pull the rest of the tree into his field for either planking or logs. She's a right beast and still hung up
  18. Havent updated this thread for over a month now so time to update it. Spent two days doing rights of way jobs in one parish. Got three stiles replaced by 2 this afternoon. Did two fingerpost jobs on the way back and spent the afternoon checking the saws over and changing bars as required. We thought one of our MS341's had dry seized but it was only because some one had turned it off from flat out so had no oil in the bore.
  19. Don't the new saws come with black marks on the caps and saws so they are fool proof? I don't and never had a problem with them.
  20. Loving this tool track at the mo:thumbup: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqOGmqFSMzk&list=HL1389646240]Tool - Right in Two - YouTube[/ame]
  21. Yet another good day at Bryanston. Was a good laugh despite having quite possibly the most irritating beater in the line. He was a guns son but he had obviously not heard of the word "no" or "pack it in". Needless to say the keeper had a few words of wisdom to him.
  22. Kaboom. Right across a sunken bridleway too. Hung up a little bit across the track but will be attempting this monster with the big boss i recon. Brought down by a fairly small gust and a severe case of Honey fungus.
