  1. Huge difference between 1.9t and 2.7t both in terms of price, width and weight. Horses for courses. Depends what work he has.
  2. Kubota wanted around 2k for extra aux, not a factory option on that.
  3. Not the weight class he’s after but yes, I considered it for my 2.8t machine.
  4. If you're thinking tilt rotator then you also need to be thinking short dipper arm and twin services to run a 4 pipe tilty (unless you want to spash out on a control system) With regards to the services- anything other than a proportional rocker switch on each joystick is a step backwards in my book. In this weight class twin services can be hard to find. I've just been through this- only Cat and Bobcat/Doosan could actually offer twin pipe models from the factory. Tak refused to do it entirely, other manufacturers wanted thousands for third party soloutions. Went for Bobcat in the end as I have two already and it was far cheaper than the Cat even before the free finance. Seems an OK machine- I need to get used to it before I can say for sure, only put a dozen hours on it so far. However- you're going to struggle to find any new machine in stock currently, let alone one with such extras unfortunately.
  5. Dated and overpriced. Plus I think op wants new.
  6. Maybe we could use home grown timber instead of adding massively to the carbon footprint by importing such a simple commodity and laughably branding in ‘renewable’. Just a thought.
  7. I loved my old Rayburn. Flipped the top around so that the removable plate for the kettle was over the fire chamber. Sat a kettle over it permanently. Any kitchen waste, just lift the kettle and chuck it in. Perfect.
  8. I don’t know what kind of ground it’s grown on in Kent. But in Sussex/Surrey it always seems to be on a sandstone slope, hence the silica.
  9. Sweet Chestnut warps like a bitch when milled and the Sussex stuff is full of silica. I wouldn't waste your time.
  10. Only cost £300 labour do a timing belt change on my 2.3 Iveco daily recently.
  11. Did you even read my post?
  12. Angle grinder and a ceramic sanding disc on a backing pad. Cuts cool and won’t blue the edge.
  13. Does this hypothetical judge come into the equation before or after you illegally fell somebody elses tree? Assuming after, what do you suppose the chances of him agreeing with you are?
  14. Can swap it to picco easily enough, which makes it a right little ripper. The anti vibe being runners is the biggest letdown.
  15. Backing pads are way more economical than flap discs, which are a gimmick in my book except for some specific weld finishing and blending applications.
  16. I’d snap their hand off for the £5k, grind the roots flat and be done with it. Btw, a property isn’t an ‘investment’ unless you have more than one.
  17. You can’t overpack them with grease. No idea how you managed to kill it as it’s not physically possible. I drill and tap the stihl grease plug for a nipple and give it a couple of pumps every few times we use it. Often when you open them up you will find grease emulsified everywhere except where you want it. They need regular grease. You might have seen fresh grease in the plug hole but it needs to be on the conrod so push it down with more fresh grease. Simples.
  18. Here’s a trick for you mate. Open eBay, and type in what you want. Then filter the results to ‘buy it now’, ‘new’ and ‘uk only’, and order by ‘price inc p and p, lowest first’ then bookmark it. When you open the bookmark, just change the search to what you want and the filter parameters will stay the same. I’ve never paid more than the cheapest price on eBay for years now.
  19. I bought a set of M30 taps for about £50! You only need one, probably £20.
  20. Indemnity insurance is crazy cheap. We took a policy as our listed cottage had a couple of things done that didn't have consent (timber door replaced with mock timber UPVC, that kind of thing). Was about £250.

What do you want stumps for??
  23. I’ve got bolts and taps for that, in Sussex if that helps.
  24. Another vote for Last Kingdom.
  25. I thought bunded was a requirement, the drivers would refuse to fill anything else etc. So I bought 2300l one for red and 1300l one for white, £600 and £700. Driver came out, said nah mate, we'll fill whatever you want! I feel better having it in bunded metal tanks rather than plastic IBC's however. I was having nightmares about sticking the forks through the IBC, and the tanks weren't exactly expensive second hand.
