  1. That skid flail looks like a impressive bit of kit. Is it on hi-flow?
  2. Might be getting it wrapped in the same yellow as well, entec looks good on the back of it, and wrapping would help tidy it up.
  3. Cheers lads. I thought the same, if anything goes wrong its still a cheap motor, either fix, or re-sell at a profit. Ones going on eBay going for more for breaking.
  4. Just over 101k, not sure how true that is, but gearbox and engine are all good at the mo
  5. Just picked this up for 1k, Picked her up from North Wales and she pulled like a train all the way, well chuffed, little battered but was cheap enough
  6. Its tough and different for everyone, all depends on how quick you are at climbing, good you are at rigging, the way you can transfer the image in your head to the tree you're working on, the equipment you have to hand etc. Try working for someone in the week and do your thing when they have no work for you. Pay good money for good men, but that's the tough one. Don't feel to bad if you loose money on the first few jobs, we've all been there and all lost on the first few.
  7. I'm in Uxbridge and wondering the same lol. If you need a bobcat with grab for a few days let me know.
  8. Thanks, got a set of them few weeks ago but lasted two hours max, non genuine, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Had them re sharpened and lasted about the same again.
  9. Hi guys, After some new teeth for my praxis stump grinder, same as midland power, but the only sets I can find are in U.S for £79+shipping so £108 which is ok, are over here at over £200. Tried the u.s ones but they got lost and now having a fight with ebay over them. They got delivered to Enfield deport, which ebay seems to think is the same as Uxbridge, doh. So anyone know anywhere else to get them? Thanks
  10. Ah the old "do you need that moved then?" customer, have to love them ones
  11. The big concern would be the wall, make sure you're covered if it does go over. Just done one for someone that went down 4ft+, taking out as much root as we could so wall could have footings re-dug.
  12. Don't forget its £200 a day, £120 is for me, maintenance and fuel are already taken out. So ok what would you all charge?
  13. Well glad things are working out for you, I'm happy with £120 for a day where I could be earning nothing. Every little helps chink chink and all that
  14. So you only work an 8hr day? lol yea right oh you do
  15. Easy, £20phx10 hrs=£200X5-£300 for wear and tear-£100 diesel=£600 for a machine that would be sitting ideal otherwise. That's if I'm not busy with my own tree work. Works for me everyday
  16. I hire out chipper, mini digger and bobcat with me as operator on all, £20 per hour, plus delivery if more than 5 miles away. Shocked at how many are running round undercutting each other than when something breaks there's no money around to repair or replace. I've turned up at jobs with chipper before and out worked their groundy, others have told me not to worry their lads will drag it to me as they don't want insurance issues if anything happens. Take pride in your work and you'll be busy all day
  17. See this all the time on ebay, they steal the pic from somewhere, normally a machine that sold on ebay a few weeks before then say to email them directly to buy it, tell you the machine will be delivered once payment is made then guess what, machine never turns up. If you ask to go see it they go silent. If you will tell them you will give them the cash when you pick it up and they say something like, sorry was broken into a few weeks ago so don't want to let you know where the yard is to limit the amount of people that know where we are. Scam
  18. Could always try a bit of speed lining if poss to reduce work load
  19. That is impressive, saves the back too
  20. Had the same on my 084, turned out head bolts had come undone slightly so as it heated everything expanded and then stopped. Could be vacuum in tank, after it stops undo tank, close and try again Good luck sorting it
  21. Lol think the demand might be going up from old tracks now, been thinking the same. Top work mate
  22. Reduce turf damage by using a plywood sheet, works a treat, and if digging to remove stumps etc and dirt's going back in, same, stick some ply down and use that to protect the surface underneath. Each person has their own way of doing it, and it'll vary with machine, surface, what your doing, how far your digging and it's been raining. Getting your own machine makes it easier as you know the machine and all its unique quirks.
  23. like it, almost like they were made for each other
  24. Top bloke, not into the glitz and glamour, just down to earth truck mechanic
  25. Just PM'd you mate, not sure if my PM's are going through Jon
