  1. Not the best photo, and a wedge from the fungi would help confirm, but it looks a good candidate. Quite high if so, mostly found right down at the root flare, and pretty aggressive on horse chestnut if it is rigi...
  2. Interesting stuff as ever David. Thanks for posting and I look forward to the article...
  3. And woolly mammoths were still alive and kicking while the pyramids were being built!
  4. Nope sorry. After painstakingly lining up all those molecules end on end, one at a time, I left my teaspoon at the end of the line.
  5. If you take all the molecules in a teaspoon of water and lined them up end to end in a single file line, they would stretch a staggering ~30 billion miles

    The dress!

Black, or brown, and blue. No doubt, is there?
  7. If they pose an immediate risk to life then just crack on. If the pre work survey strongly suggests the presence of bats, you'd then do well to contact a licensed bat handler for further advice. Have a look at the arb association's bat survey guide, very concise and only about a tenner
  8. When I got married in Thetford 5 yrs ago we stayed here http://www.longacre-lodge.co.uk/ A log cabin, self catering, it was nice and cosy, even though they forgot to turn on the underfloor heating before we arrived - took 48hrs to warm up!
  9. I'm seeing double  Yes, it could be a Ganoderma
  10. I hope so, it's a little bit too prominent at the moment. I have considered leaving it full of water overnight to see if speeds things up. Time will tell I guess...
  11. Fair enough. I thought it might get you past your regional firewall and able to get contact details. Bartlett seem to promote stem injections and I thought they might be able to give you a nod in the right direction.
  12. Yep, Auricularia auricula-judae, Jew's or jelly ear. The other, Tremella mesenterica, or yellow brain
  13. Elephant, or cock and balls?
  14. No worries, I remember trudging through soul science - I dropped out of a-level geology for a reason! Now I find it kind of interesting once you get past the basics. There's tgood little guide, aidgap I think, which is handy to have. Let me check... ...yep. This one http://www.britishwildlifegifts.co.uk/gifts-by-type/educational-wildlife-gifts/uk-wildlife-field-guides/FSC-AIDGAP-Soil-identification-earth?sort=rating&order=DESC#.VOfgn5GnySw
  15. http://passel.unl.edu/pages/informationmodule.php?idinformationmodule=1130447025&topicorder=4 This web page may be of interest to you...
  16. Standard practice round here quite often!
  17. Try http://m.bartlett.com/mregion.cfm?alr=1&rpg=l&
  18. Can't seem to do it on my phone, I'll try the computer later...
  19. Crikey that made a mess! No injuries I hope. Where abouts was it?
  20. Could try asking Bartletts if they know of any?
  21. My AA breakdown cover through Lloyds bank covers breakdowns for the person rather than the vehicle. Either take out cover with them, or find someone with a Lloyds account to go along with you
