  1. Grivel.... Crampomatic or something. Do me for what I want Got a Black Diamond Raven Pro axe for the new season, cant wait!
  2. Urbanrock - The Climbing Experts - La Sportiva - Nepal Extreme £250 there! You know it makes sense, honestly, it does. I know a guy who has had them four or five years maybe, hes done Aconcagua, Nepal, Tibet, India, Pyrenees, Toubkal and the Atlas range and the Munros in them, and they are still going strong! They take a bit to wear in but are like slippers after that. And no, I'm not on commission, sadly.
  3. Its a big stretch, but if you can justify the money they are well worth it La Sportiva Nepal Evo GTX are the best 4 seasons boots I have ever worn. I think they are about £350, honestly they are the knees of the bee, second year I've had mine and won't swap them, even if I had to do the Eiger. Within your budget I would go for Scarpa Mantas. They are really good boots for the money (about £220 I think). The soles are "sticky" enough for a bit of rock work but deep enough on mosses and mud that you don't go AOT. Good midsole for technical work and it has the TPU heel insert which is relatively good on drops/impact and cramponable. I owned a pair for about 4 years, did me really well and only had to get rid of them because they didnt fit. Nothing special just winter work in Scotland. I think its the best Sub £300 boot going. Hope thats some use Sam
  4. Cool. Any idea how much its gonna cost, fuel wise? Sam

  14. Been one and escaped that circle. Couldn't afford it if anything else because I was addicted to Montecristo 1935 Habana blend, following a trip to Cuba (I still like the rum and cigars far too much). "Tea, though ridiculed by those who are naturally coarse in their nervous sensibilities will always be the favorite beverage of the intellectual *and the treeman*."

  20. Just a quick note for a guy who I have been dealing with a bit recently. John at Shades of Green, in Warrington. Really honest guy and a pleasure to deal with. Cheapest price on all the kit I have asked him to price (and bought) so far (Including saws, ballistics, stein helmet, chains etc.) He also has Timberwolf tracked & road tow chippers, stump grinders and other plant at dirt cheap prices, I think a 150 road tow is about £60 a day. No website I'm afraid, but contact details below. Moss Lane Nursery Moss Lane Warrington WA4 6UZ 01925 740995 ‎ No connection blah blah blah, just think good service deserves a mention. Sam
