  1. Just wondering if any one has any pictures of any plane obelisks with no details on the sides they have carved, customer wants a 30ft cedar trunk carved into either a 3 or 4 sided obelisk. She just want to see what it will look like before she decides as she cant seem to picture it.
  2. That's for every ones input. Could have been a number of things. Just nice going into it knowing the possible causes. Thanks again Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  4. Chipper got a bit frozen on the way to work. Had to poor hot water on the throttle cable to unfreeze it. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Lovley day. Dropped one stem off the 1st tree from the ground allowing every one to walm up dragging brush. Although the chipper throttle cable was frozen so had to sort that then started climbing. 4 24" silver birches with a little rigging by fences and sheds. 100ft drag and 4 loads of chip. Not a bad day. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. All these people that complain about the snow etc well they go in and sit in a nice walm office which doesn't change from day to day. Now off we go to go play in the trees and freeze are hands off. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  11. 16ft trailer 38"rings. A lil heavy. Wheelspun pulling away Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. I think you might be right with the valve. If you take the right spark plug out it will turn over. It's just the right cylinder stoping it. It doesn't take much force to move it past that point. On 1 or 2 occasions it has done 1 3/4 of a turn but still stops at that point. Ill have a look next week. Cheers guys Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Yer same plug in both ports. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Thanks. The job was working for some one else that I do all there climbing and chipping for. I turned up and that was what was presented. I agree with the idea of not combining all tasks in one go and spreading them out over a few years which should get the tree time to adapt to the loss of branches. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. You can continue to rotate the top by hand with not much effort. Will check the valves when I'm next there Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. One of my customers has a Westwood with a vtwin 20hp Briggs n Stratton. It's sat around for 2-3 years not being used. I've put a battery on it and it turns 3/4 then stops. If you take the spark plugs out it spins as it should. If you put the spark plug in the left one its still spins but if you just have a plug in the right it only turns 3/4 again. Is this the valves that need adjusting? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. I've always thought if its a young beech it will deal better with the prune but just take it a little easier than other species if its a mature beech. But I'm sure it's not as delicate as the tree officers say. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. 15% reduction, thin and crown lift Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Grabbed a picture today of how it's finished. I would have taken all the remaining small branches off but the client wanted some to remain. Give it a year or so and won't know any difference. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Cheers. So much more light coming under the trees now. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Had a nice early start today 5.50 get up and a 1.5hr drive to site. Spec was 15% reduction, thin and crown lift on 3 of the trees and a 4th was to be taken down and the logs to be split on site. Unfortunately didn't get any before pics but have a few afters. Nice load of pure chip with no leaf
  22. Jeeze never had it slip. Just get the rope hooked up. There is a large lean to just behind the hedge at the bottom for 6 cars with a plastic corrugated roof so that side I had to just launch it as far as I can. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Yep. . abit of a pain in the butt to work round. Ropes getting caught up and the old poke in the face.
  24. Next oak matched up
