The company that we do bits and pieces for she stood on the road saying which pieces she wanted off which was reasonable obvious. Then at time having to go back to revisit as they changed there mind. 11. Nope but they know are rates. It was a subbed job. They said need you for 2 possible 3 days. It took 3 but they are saying it could have been done in 2 so they want to pay 2 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App http://Www.colwoodlandcare.co.uk
  12. Hopfully everyone knows roughly what was undertaken. It took 1 day a tree inc clearing up. I am being told despite before the work was carried out that it could take 3 days that I should have done the 2 height reduction trees with thins and dead woods in 1 day so they are trying to get away with paying 2 days. Looking at what was done how many days do you think 2 people would take to do this realistically. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App http://Www.colwoodlandcare.co.uk
  13. More than likely. Not sure what load a transit will do. It's the chap I do his climbing and chipping for. Only lucky thing is the tip site was just round the corner. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App http://Www.colwoodlandcare.co.uk
  14. Certainly does. Endless supply of branches with the groundies constantly dragging. Chipper never didn't have something to chip. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App http://Www.colwoodlandcare.co.uk
  15. 1 scots pine to raise the canopy over 3 sheds and hot tub. 1 18" pine to take down to 12ft so the client. Can build a tree house on it and 20 45ft 16" conifers to take down. Long drag made easier with 3 groundie and 1 person on the chipper. Took 4 loads of chip with the transit and defender. Filled a 12tonne trailer with the logs. Nice day with a beer at the end. Last tree to come down. Half the log. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App http://Www.colwoodlandcare.co.uk

  23. The trees were planted for a large estate many years ago, there were avenues of them with blue cedars in-between, now all that remains is the odd scattered one and if you are lucky, or in some peoples opinion unlucky you get 3 in your garden. Its a real shame that when in the planning stage of these properties that there is no consideration or pre thought. There is an ISA podcast about the whole planning on building ect then the work getting carried out on the trees, in there circumstances things were built then they realised the tree was unsafe and so work had to be carried out, in some cases taking days when if the work was done before what had been built a simple fell of a dead tree could have been carried out, costing much less and being far easier. In these trees i liked working in the 1st and tallest tree at the front of the property, in the end the work which was carried out was any branches sticking out like a sore thumb taken back, thinning where there was high density areas to minimise resistance on branches. Then dead wood and remove rubbing and twisted limbs. The targets below were 1 house, fence and smaller trees. The 2 smaller trees in the rear were both dead wooded and damaged limbs removed then the top 20ft taken out. Not my personal choice will the height reduction as stated it will re spout causes future maintenance. On the + side i have to do a visual tree inspection for the company that is running the job, so every year ill take the snips up and cut off and new growth. Both rear trees have a fence running below, 2 green house and a garage.
  24. Been doing some large redwoods this weekend think I have defiantly over done it. Sunday had to stop half the day. Didn't really sleep the 2 days leading up to the job and couldn't eat breakfast been feeling rather sick. So called it a day on Sunday and took today off. Did a bit of sailing and lost my wallet when we capsized. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App http://Www.colwoodlandcare.co.uk
  25. Not sure. Did the 1st tree today. Just thin the canopy to allow wind through. And deadwood Tomorrow top the 2 rear redwoods and deadwood. A bit dusty. On the way there a pheaent flew out the hedge and smashed the windscreen. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App http://Www.colwoodlandcare.co.uk
