  1. Thanks for he quick reply stubby! Somebody else had mentioned that and it does make sense. It's a 2007 saw I think but looks like it's not done much work. Maybe run with a wrong mix of fuel?
  2. Got given an ms170 which apparently didn't run. After some fresh fuel it fired up perfectly and after a while it eventually revved up fine. Used it cutting some oak up for my parents a couple of days ago and it ran perfectly for about 15 minutes, then slowly the revs lowered and it died. If you let it rest for a bit it will eventually start and do the same again... Any ideas what this could be? I've also got an old stihl blower, runs okay as long as you keep pumping the primer while it's running. What could this be? Blocked jet or something? Perished pipe?
  3. Just came across this. What happened to this beast in the end?
  4. After somebody for general labour, nothing too strenuous. Ipswich area, flexible days over the next couple of months... Inbox me for details Leon
  5. Got some days free before some full time work kicks off. I've also got UA1,2.1,2.2 now... Free most of the next 3 weeks if anybodies after a groundie/climber. Can provide references. Cheers, Leon.
  6. Hello all! Looking for days to fill up my week as I seem to be having too much time off at the moment I've got 3 years experience, all PPE, climbing kit, top handle and ground saw, defender hicap pickup, CS30, 31, 38, 39, first aid, full driving licence + trailer licence as well as experience driving telehandlers, dumpers, loading shovels etc, liability insurance... I've been climbing on and off for about 2 and a half years but more than happy to work on the ground! Been lucky enough to be part of some awesome jobs and have seen plenty of rigging etc Worked all over from London housing estates to English heritage sites to Norway. Willing to travel for the right pay (I actually quite enjoy travelling for work!) I'll put in a hard days graft AND I have a good sense of humor (very important in life!) Inbox me if you have anything and we can go from there. Cheers, Leon!
  7. Following this thread with interest...
  8. Definitely something to think about, iveco! And thanks iron bark I'll check them out now
  9. Thankyou, that's definitely well worth speaking to my accountant about! I'm a sole trader currently subbing for people doing tree work... Eggs, do you mind if I PM you?
  10. Ahh yeah that's a good one. Not sure how you'd approach fast food premises about it? Email or ask to speak to the manager?
  11. Depends on the job at hand whether cheap domestic washers are up to the task. I'm talking about a professional back to new kind of job... But I guess that depends whether the demand is there and people are willing to pay for it. An old work colleague/friend used to have a tow behind pressure washer and he cleaned out farms etc... Said he made good money. Just putting the feelers out, doing the research so any constructive criticism is appreciated
  12. Caravan parks, lorry yards, shop fronts, boats... Just to name a few.
  13. Does anybody offer this as a service or actively advertise for it? Just something I've been thinking about. Can get something like in the link below for £1500, chuck an ibc tank in the back of my 110 hicap and off you go...? If so how do you price it? There's a few local companies on google but most seem to just advertise for driveways, missing half the market, surely. Honda Gx 390 Petrol Pressure washer Jetwasher business start up pckage | eBay
  14. I've always used my hitch climber with a petzl O shaped krau. May have to change it and see if it makes much difference Just washed my ropes as all I've been climbing recently is pines, firs erc and theh were covered in sap making life HARD work to say the least! Hoping to get a zigzag soon then I'll swap my hitch climber onto my lanyard as at the moment I just run a standard prussik. What knots do you tie on the ends of yours without spliced eyes?
  15. Damn, I'm gunna need a gym membership! May have to look at ramps and maybe a small winch?
  16. Definitely going to invest in one of these little devils. Will be a good low risk foot in the door... How do you guys carry yours, am I silly thinking I'll be able to lift it in the back of my 110 hicap alone?
  17. What are the teeth like, are they effective?
  18. Just had an email saying they've discontinued the stumpmaster 2 as the original was far better apparently... Next pay check I'll be ordering one I think... Should be here just in time for my arrival home back from Norway
  19. I'm trying to find out the same thing. Is the newer one worth the extra £150 or is it better to buy the older one and a set of extra teeth for the same money?
  20. I'm heading off to Oslo on the 29th of this month to work. Could be upto September which would mean 4 months... What's the tax implications on this? My employer reckons that anything under 6 months and Ill pay UK tax. But does the percentage of money earned there change things?
  21. Was a good day until I got stupidly stuck and had just sold my front bumper so didn't have any decent recovery points on the front...resulted in being snatched with a chain off my steering guard! Probably the worst practice haha...
  22. Hello all! I've been climbing on and off for about 2 years. I'd say I'm a 'second climber' but more than happy to work on the ground! Been lucky enough to be part of some awesome jobs and have seen plenty of rigging etc Worked all over from London housing estates to English heritage sites. 23. My new Hi-Cap and my discovery I just broke after a hard day at bures pit...
  24. Would you say the RG20HD is a half decent machine to start up with? I mean would I be likely to come across much at first that I couldn't tackle with it? The one for sale's up north so a bit of a treck but if it's worth it distance isn't really an issue...
