  1. Top man thanks for your help. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Can anyone help identify this spiky critter? As you can see this plant has rose like thorns to the stems and if you look closely vertical spikes on the leaf stems. Deciduous and currently standing at 3m in height. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Price doesn't include Mercedes Sprinter so you basically get a pile of Greenmech bits n pieces lol not for me. £10k on a build your own chipper/shredder think they'll struggle to sell that at that price don't you? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Ideally looking for a machine that processes timber and brash at reasonable speed but one you can also not worry about the dregs of the job going through like the sweepings which may contain stones and other foreign bodies. Processing soil covered tree roots would be a benefit too but is that asking too much of a shredder? I've heard the shredder hammers can get jammed at each end of the shaft causing the shaft to break - is this a design fault, anyone else had any problems like this? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. We have two chippers Schliesing 440zx & Timberwolf TW150. Looking at buying a shredder ie Timberwolf S426 and selling the Schliesing - does anybody have any feedback on the shredders as we've never really used them. I know chippers will process woody material faster usually around 4 tons per hour v shredders 3 tons per hour but any other advantages or disadvantages we should consider? 6. Looking for experienced self employed climber with own climbing kit & saw to work on ad-hoc days - pm day rate & qualifications. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Anyone called the number or viewed the machine? I recall someone in Rayleigh, Essex reporting a missing machine few weeks back. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Fantastic piece of kit makes the whole process so much easier. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. How many hours or days will it take to do 200m? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Totally agree Steve. I don't hire my machines out cos people just abuse them by throwing any old crap in there last sweepings from a job which nine times out of ten contains stones and **** in it. I had a guy hire us in to clear brash and it was a nightmare real bird best with barbed wire, old pallets iron reinforcing rods. He wanted it all done in a day - that was the one and only time I've taken on a job like that now we cut, we chip otherwise not interested. Plenty of other mugs out there willing to do it for silly money. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Andy, you're not to far from me how much do you charge to hire your Schliesing on a day or week hire? I'm in the process of selling my 8 year old TW150 and 4 year old Schliesing 440zx with a view to either buying brand new machines. This thread has made me consider simply hiring the machines or even hiring a man and chipper at the rates quoted (if i can find someone local & reliable) rather than tie up £40k in capital outlay, service, replace etc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Our local hire shop hires out a professional Timberwolf towable chipper for around £180 per day. You have to collect, return and provide fuel so you price is way too cheap if you're going to turn up at site with your own chipper provide labour, fuel for machine as well as travel costs plus wear & tear on your machine and that can run into hundreds per year - you should be looking at £300-350 minimum. 18. Anyone know what the guy on the ground is using - looks like a powered muck truck with grab? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Yup, got sign pro from the misses for crimbo present £63 delivered. Good kit & easy to use but the universal guide plate wouldn't fit on my router so had to drill & countersink my own fixing holes, you could easily make your own guide plate with a bit of board with 15mm Dia copper pipe. The key to the whole kit is the ease of creating words and numbers that's worth buying. This was the first name plate I've made and so far. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  22. Felled an oak for a client & they wanted a small keepsake so made them a house name, just needs a drop of varnish. all part of the service. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. General Arb wood chip with leaf and chip is lowest grade so you don't make much but gets the mountain out of the yard. If you can produce pure clean chip they'll pay reasonable money for it but moisture content plays a big role. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. This should be the new Tesco's TV advert.... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. It's in Bideford, Devon. The local council were due to fell the tree and public got wind and searched for ways to retain it. They employed a local sculptor, John Butler, who sculpted the hand to support the tree. People power! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
