  1. I've got a small John Deere compact tractor that I've often thought we could attach a circular log saw, I'd be interested to see what you've got and guide price. Thanks
  2. Any idea on prices? Filled with split logs roughy what would it weigh?
  3. That's a handy piece of kit how much and where can you buy one?
  4. Anyone got any better ways of cutting cord log without huge cost of expensive machines, these logmasters sell for around £100 but not sure they're man enough. Could do with a large circular saw chop saw.
  5. Looking to purchase bulk bags suitable for storing and moving split logs, ideally with net vented sides. Anybody got any recommendations for supplier of bags?
  6. That's what I did and an awesome machine. Looking forward to the Forst 8" chipper due out later this year.
  7. Thanks, some useful background info. It's not my machine it's a local farmers and I spotted in the yard and with a curious mind took a few pics.
  8. It is a gravity fed machine with what looks like a 14" wide drum & knife arrangement. It's an old gal with what must be 40-50HP in that engine, so plenty of power. Would it meet today's safety standards I wonder? Haven't seem it running yet got that pleasure to come but I'm standing well clear.
  9. I presume you have a water tank in your truck if you're using a 20litre napsack sprayer that's a lot of refills. Don't you find it mind numbingly boring or do you just plug your iPod in and sing to yourself all day.
  10. That's a good price £370 all in but excluding delivery charge?
  11. So based on £100 per hectare that's £150-200 per day plus chemical cost? 3-4 acres in a day on foot is certainly covering a lot of ground presuming trees are 3 metres apart.
  12. I've already got an Arb trolley but happy to buy yours as you're clearly not happy with it.
  13. I've got all the kit & tickets just curious what rate, if any, people apply to spraying around trees. I've always priced in the usual way labour, equipment, chemical used etc
  14. What's the going rate for spray application weed control using glyphosate herbicide around newly planted trees dispensed by knapsack sprayer?
  15. A pm price for both would be great plus location so I can work out collection cost. Thanks
  16. I'm looking to purchase ideally green oak to mill into the following sizes:- 5 @ 1350+600+75. 5 @ 1350+450+75. 10@ 2400+100+100. If you have anything suitable please pm me ASAP. Timber to be used for park benches so doesn't have to be oak. We're based in Essex so price and location would be helpful - pm details.
  17. FR Jones & Sons - log on web site order and its delivered - simple.
  18. Over the years we've had dealings with good, bad and some down right ugly suppliers but when it comes to customer service FR Jones are right up there with the great and the good, excellent customer service. Thanks Justin.
  19. Matts rock solid from Global, I went through the demos but you won't go wrong with the Jensen. Ill reply to your pm when I get the info.
  20. I had the Forst out on demo, brilliant machine cross between Jensen & Schliesing. I would've have bought the Forst but I felt the hopper feed is too narrow so ended up buying Jensen A540 and very happy with it, more expensive but then it's an 8" chipper rather than 6". Forst are supposed to be bringing out an 8" version which I will seriously look at & possibly P/E my Jensen. As you probably know Forst comes from the same UK dealer as Jensen - Redwood Global. So far we've had excellent sales and service with parts (filters) sent out v quickly. My only issue was 12v lights blew cos our Isuzu is 24v but they sent new bulb set, problem sorted although i did wonder if the wiring is being cooked!
  21. That's Glyn Hopkin Nissan for you I took it back when it was under warranty and they had it for a day said they'd tested it and it met all the minimum requirements but certainly not as good as my last Nissan, really pissed me off.
  22. I've had navaras for past 12 years pulling full weight trailers and never had any major issues. The only problem ive had with my current 2010 model is the heating takes forever to warm up and clear window screen, been back to main dealer but they say nothing more they can do, other than that all good.
