  1. Got a Stihl 450 brush cutter that fires up no problem, runs for about ten minutes then cuts out. Seems to cut out after ten minutes leaving 3/4 tank of fuel, once refilled runs for another ten minutes and repeats the process. Any idea what's causing this?
  2. Looking for a lorry to pick up oak log from Romford and deliver to Chelmsford within the next two weeks. Grab lorry or similar.
  3. Thanks Geoff, I've used Felix site before. He's one lucky guy looking after the estate he has under his belt.
  4. Taking down an oak in the next two weeks, looking for local tip site to offload Woodchip.
  5. I've linked my metal triangles with a 13mm fishermans knot to create a sliding bridge then karabiner onto climbing rope attachments, been loler inspected and although they questioned it they did pass it.
  6. I'm going to visit the client next week so will try and take some pics. Thanks for Feedback so far.
  7. I've done this with younger trees with success but my concern is this is the second year of chemical attack on a mature oak so unlikely to succeed but could be worth a go if client prepared to pay.
  8. Good point Steve, I'm being lead to believe he does but could be a smoke screen difficult to tell. He has also said culprits have drilled the stem base/roots and applied paraffin.
  9. unfortunately, you can't TPO a tree that's clearly dying but worth mentioning to tree officer for sure.
  10. Biggest problem is proving unless you catch them red handed. As to fences doesn't really help because they can use the kids water guns to fire chemical over the tree from some distance and hard to catch them. My clients main concern right now is trying to save the tree, I've given it some thought and think with the second attack and the age of the tree it's just a question of time before it dies off completely - great shame!
  11. Client has a mature oak 2metres stem diameter measured at shoulder height, approximately 10-15metres in height. Tree suffered mysterious poisoning last year which has killed some of the foliage. Now been attacked again with tree and surrounding grass dying. Client keen to save the tree but no idea of what chemical has been used. Can only presume its a systemic contact spray like glyphosate. Bearing in mind the age of the tree and two attacks over two seasons is there any way of saving the tree?
  12. What time intervals and number of shots did you set up?
  13. We should create a co-operative get our own artic and serve the industry.
  14. Is it not possible to sell direct to power stations and arrange your own haulage?
  15. Woodchip price per ton collected has gone from £12.00 to £6.00 and most recently they collected two artic loads and we're now getting £3.00 - it's a joke! Anybody know any independent companies buying Woodchip? If not, might be time to buy an artic and make some phones calls.
  16. Listening to Chris Evans this morning and he mentioned the air ambulance landing in a field next to his house because a tree surgeon had been injured. Anybody know how the guy is doing or what happened?
