  1. Seems not very keen to show it off thought this looked dodgy also Transit Tipper and Timberwolf 150 dbh chipper (6inch) on eBay (end time 21-Aug-10 00:57:26 BST)
  2. Very much Agree
  3. Doberman Seems like one of the best comments I've herd for a long time. Seems like alot of the people commenting on this forum are living in a AFAG leaflet paradise, were everyone is blessed with Ariel rescuers, first aiders, and no one starts a saw unless the Risk assessment and method statement say yes. In the real world tree work is price competing with ******, who will just fell/top smash and run for less money, and trying to makie a profit and decent job with what little resources you have I'd love to have a Hi-Flex wearing shinney aerial rescuer with binoculars in one hand and a first aid kit in the other watching me and ensuring my continued safety. But 9/10 days I have to settle for a donkey from the pub, and the job always gets done just as well. When I start doing £900 days 5 days a week I'll put that donkey in a shinny jacket and through some tickets. Till then I'll keep paying carrots and making a small profit
  4. I had to do CSCS for highways work on the M25, The test was only like £20 and was massively simple if you can't pass it then you should't be aloud out in public! Not come in useful for any other jobs since mind but i'm sure it will do one day.
  5. Bribes work better
  6. All chainsaw boots seem to self destruct, after 6 months, Although my stein boots which I bought at the show for the bargain price of £100 are holding up lovely and are super comfy. - Like a cuddly chubby girl hugging your feet all day long
  7. A month or so back I got a call from a chap saying he was from Northants Police publicity dept, asking if I would be interested in advertising in there magazine. It was only £95 inc VAT and would be dished out by the police and to various homes. I thought well that's not allot of money and might get a few police station jobs etc. So time goes by and I keep getting calls from withheld numbers hi its whoever from the police, the are publishers going to ring you to confirm ra ra ra, So just before I went on holiday I made a verbal agreement over phone, and thought I would sort this out on my return from holiday. I came home to 3 separate invoices from BCS Media - Community Magazine bringing you useful safety advice and news Blue Line Publictions -Frontline magazine (complete with two police officers on cover) and Digital Jupiter - Crime prevention journal So I rang all 3; who are you? why do I have three companies all police related magazines all based in liverpool? I'm cancelling not paying They all replied not herd of the other companies and are in no way related, but you owe me £100 if you dont pay, debt collectors etc Rang local police and they in no way indorese these and just a scam all invoices are being forwarded to trading standards so if you get any magazines affilliated to the police or fire service there a scam, Glad I never paid them any thing
  8. I got asked if I could start doing works for them, but had to pay 250 quid upfront, so said a big no thanks
  9. 3 Hours later I have answered several hundred questions about racial discrimination and my companies contribution to communities, and yet not one question along the lines of am I any good at tree work, I'm sure these tender forms are just to make getting decent work harder, Thats not really a question, I'm just a little bored and looking for a distraction. Discuss
  10. I put used engine oil for chain lube on a firewood processor, by lunch time i looked like a chimney sweep from all the black dust on me,
  11. Bet its a wasp collecting sawdust for making/repairing nests, you'd know if you had hit a nest,
  12. What book would you recommend for tree fungus ID, other than diagnosis of ill health in trees?

  14. Hi All I'm starting to realise that the amount i'm spending on hiring i could have bought a real nice chipper. Looking for a timber wolf 150 or 190 or something similar, don't have to be pretty just does the job, not getting much luck in finding the right one on ebay or eArborist. Will Pay paper notes!!
  15. How difficult is it to re-register a truck as ag, quite like the idea of free tax and running on red
  16. Veg oil goes sticky if its used, gunks everything up
  17. I used to make my own chains of the reel and the snapping was quite a regular occurrence, really not very exciting just frustrating having to re join them.

  24. There an easy fix if you cut them you can twist the cables back together and a little insulation tape. If you pull them away from the buildings if the little clips come loose a little bailer twine around the drain pipe fixes good as new. Just don't try the same technique when you come across a HI-V power line
