  1. Having found your posts and threads always worth reading I would buy this book,
  2. I'm glad someone else echoed that, very in-partial, however i bet if you do work for them you'd do well
  3. Dan, do you fancy some subby climbing work, you like doing little reductions on massive trees
  4. I don't have a site but a network of people who will take chip, If you get really stuck then let me know, as it might be bit of hassle, when is said chip wanting rid and what quantity James
  5. I have read some of there there subsidence tree reports, the only things I can say about said company would violate ArbTalk rules
  6. Wellingborough is one big dumping ground
  7. On my council website you can get copies of all recent planning apps of which conservation areas and TPO's also come under, a while back I was getting someone appealing against a few conservation orders I did. I have a rough Idea of who it was luckily our planning officer was cool about it and threw them out but was still hassle.
  8. Well I was looking at a much older machine, having spent a bit of time forwarder driving I know alot of time can be spent on the spanners replacing pipes etc, £300 a day seemed a little low
  9. I recently priced up a roof mount kit, and the general figure amongst local contractors figure was £300 a day, operator and botex rig, for any distance + transport In forestry most work on per m3 rate between 7-9£
  10. I herd a chap in NZ talking about these, believe they call them chuck n cover, or chuck n duck
  11. I do £280 local for me a van and chipper, for people I know and in return do good rates for me when I need it,
  12. If you have your serial number put them on here, Just in case
  13. Brilliant comment thats more or less what I've been telling everyone who asks me about it. That 38 degrees website contains no information just bandwagon jumping
  14. Sounds like jealousness of someone else using a saw, using a saw is as easy as pulling a starter cord, I know farmers and builders who could fell more quickly and more accurately than some one who thinks there a chainsaw wonder just because they've done half a weeks training felling pine trees in the forest.
  15. 26 and been using a saw since 16 Really bad fingers always feel cold and are useless when chilly, Is there a cure, was going to see a doctor but know they will only say" use saw less and take breaks, quite smoking"
  16. I think so, I use to use one alot, and found them to be quite quick to use, and the logs are already in your hand to chuck into an awaiting trailer. You can also re-split easily for small firewood, If I ever do firewood on any scale I would get one as step 1
  17. I'd second that use to see them in oz
  18. Hi David, I could't commit to 8 weeks, but might be able to do the odd day here and there, I'm about an hour away from brum, and do alot of subbing for tree clearance companies.

Much bigger saw on the wall behind
  20. Whats the going standing price?
  21. Thats alright I've been called rosey for as long as I can remember!
  22. ahh shame, my company is teenie weenie but growing, if work picks up and we have a year like last year, I might think about relying less on casual staff and having someone more permanent. at the moment I'm considering focusing on the forestry more as we have some juicy felling contracts on the horizon. But when you move this way feel free to give me a ring, there might be the odd day here and there or enough work to tie you over till you get something more permanent. The big firms here are Salcey and Wilby, there is a firm in wellingborough hiring for Utility arbs, I don't know the firm well as I avoid wellingborough, and don't to UA Best of luck James
  23. Always plant whats growing well on the site already, ash is obvious but is the site suitable, probably yes to be fair
  24. I believe you can register/give your details to the police to be called out on emergenciy tree work. Not sure what the full details are, might be worth starting a new thread as I'm sure some one on the forum will know I think I would want to know who to post the invoice to first as the police would't be paying for it,
  25. The Cscs is just for a job next week, if you can spell your name and have £17 you can pass a CSCS, 4 days next week
