  1. Finally got rid of the plywood sides and got some proper fabricated ally sides. Supplied and fitted £350 for pound notes. One small problem first person to spot wins a lolly pop (T&C apply)
  2. I'd love a nice tracked as my next second chipper but it seems I could by a decent range rover for the same price as a ropey tracked
  3. I don't think the rot in the stem would be then issue but where you could anchor into. Unless your a 10 a day pie eater your weight in a tree is insignificant and you would have to be really unlucky for it to fail naturally while your in the tree. If your 11 stone makes it fail the wind would have felled it long ago
  4. Per kg perhaps Have you tried Barnwell trailers up my way, there not cheap but another option, or you could rent one of theres for 50quid and swap the packs over

    Litterbugs

My local beauty spot and dog walking place is now infested with children. A group of young lads were sitting on a bench and one threw a bottle into the river near where they were sitting. That really made me boil so I sent the spaniel into retrieve it for him and hand it back. Made him look like a right bell in front of the spotty teenage girls he was trying to impress
  6. If your stuck my TT105 is for sale, just down the road from you too, good price good condition.
  7. Let us know how you get on, I still reminisce of my days of spiking palms as high as the eye can see as wide as a telegraph pole
  8. I used to work for a chap named nick who is a ex pom, great firm, good guy works you hard but treats you well, Canopy Tree services Home Say James Rose says hello
  9. Ive just put a new cap on mine, better but still sloshes a little when full
  10. I saw an add for a local tree surgeon, any stump any size £30 had some beauts I was gonna get him in on
  11. Woodlots theres one
  12. Although i love the botanical names I would only ever us it when necessary as people can see through the fake veneer of intelligence used by people dropping big words into standard convosation.
  13. I love the botanical names it's interesting if you find out what they mean and can also help you in IDing trees as the Latin name is often descriptive. Also many trees names might refer to different species like the 60m ish mountain ash I hiked to go see in oz only for it to be another type of gum tree were as there's only one sorbus acumabob Also depends on if your a oath with a saw or genuine arboriculturist with a good knowledge of tree species and sciences
  14. Instead of getting drunk and talking about trees i will be spraying ragwort all weekend, fun times
  15. I like this comment, you are a wise man and sounds like you feel my pain,
  16. Sorry it's not me being personal I just don't need another hurdle to meet the AAAC holy grail
  17. I live just down the road from billing, I expect to see the local roads littered with broken down land rovers.
  18. What a man drives should have no relevance on his standard of tree work, if they wheel barrowed it home to be chewed by by angry terriers into a recyclable wood chip like product they should still pass the aa test as long as there tree work is good and there not fly tipping it. I'm not normally the arguey forum who has a small winkey and something to prove to make himself feel better but I've sent all week trying to get mountains of paper work in order for things all of which is bureaucracy and no relevance to tree work. Personally all I want to do is climb trees and look awesome
  19. There is a chain round - secure load at least
  20. I drive a transit everyday it's always over loaded, I've had logs up to the ladder rack, I even once had my Ifor tt105 full of Chip on the back too, only a short distance mine. I dont have. 7.5 tonne licences nor the finances to run one, Just get a job done not fanny about the who and if By the looks of your website seems like you've made the big time and can afford to run trucks, don't mean you can get on your pedestal and judge those who are a few years behind you.
  21. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/picture-forum/26956-beech-reduction-owl-instillation.html
  22. Personally i belive the la should be reccomending contractors who meet there criteria as long as it is a open process Perhaps one for another thread
  23. If everyone who owned a reputable firm joined the scheme and advertised such then it would help the AAAC become a house hold name, I think the Day I become AAAC my firm will be a proper firm and I will achieved my goal but at risk putting this thread back on subject my local T.O. Would not refer me for the free assessment as it would show preferential treatment of contractors
  24. I use to hate reductions, the more you the think about them the worse they turn out, i always just look at the highest point and work around it, commit myself on the height. you also need a groundy who is not afraid to point out dodgy lookin bits
  25. That will take the hard work out of connie bashing
