  1. If they use the other guy a lot and still seek other quotes I would guess he's not the sort of client you want to pursue for work.
  2. I wore a coat, seemed to do the trick
  3. I used these people before they deliver Instant Hedges - Suppliers and Growers of Semi-Mature and Mature Trees, Shrubs and Instant Hedge
  4. Live forever by oasis is much easier to play, that and kiss me, by beautiful south are my repitoir. Just the intro was all I needed to woo a woman at uni
  5. We had the bearing collapse on our 190, after we repaired it and put new bearings on it we noticed the wheels had a lot of camber and the axel was bent. Apparently it's a common thing. New axel was only 250 fitted by my Tw dealer
  6. You could debate whether its fair or not all day, Life is not fair and HMRC certainly aren't No one at HMRC will debate it with you and there the side that counts. Go gross contractor think you need to turn more that 30k for it, its a headache and I hate HMRC who originally refused it to me on the basis I was late paying a 12£ tax bill 5 years ago. TWITS! But now I just give my UTR code and get the full whammy Solved
  7. Register for gross contractor then no deductions, I had to do it, its a massive faff and HMRC are very unhelpful if not obstructive
  8. Where abouts in midlands?
  9. Climb less, rest my knees
  10. unless its quality hardwood it 3m lengths then its mine, but jo public can still have the booger wood
  11. Really? We put signs up saying please steal this wood, I would rather it was heating someones house and I was helping out a fellow human than having to handball it or hiab it on van, trip over it endlessly at yard have to keep pushing it up and eventually find a home for it, even though I'm well endowed with kit to shift it its nothing but hassle the moment it on the deck, I make money from cutting trees down not making wood, if it was vis-versa I would go back to buying standing timber.
  12. Big saw for light snedding up or even forestry work, I have one there great but wouldt wanna swing it all day unless the size of timber warranted it
  13. Holkolm beach
  14. Sounds like I need to put a grittier on my pickup and run on red all year
  15. Second that
  16. I use to faff with horsey types and allotments. I got sick of the hassle, locked gates and not being able to tip sometimes. Horsey places were good bit get muddy quick and loosing a afternoon waiting for a tow gets tedious. I now pay £50 a month two rent a scrap of yard which is all mine, I borrow a 8tonne 360 which is sometime parked next door to push it up for £20 sly in the hand for the yards man to leave the keys in the machine when no ones looking. It saves hassle and travelling round to find a chip dump
  17. Can I have your autograph
  18. Are you aware this is a hawthorn which is a bushy shrubby type thing not a majestic oak, If you need to reduce a massive hawthorn to a 4 ft stump which is what thatseems bs3998 don't come into it anywhere, I doubt the OP knows what the desired effect was to be, it could have been to create a low hedge or leave a stump for a digger to rip out. This forums become far to saturated with people who have only ever experienced real tree work in textbooks
  19. Standard hawthorn cut for clearence I guess the op has just read done his pruning assignment in college and now is a expert on all forms of tree work
  20. Any auto factors will do them and will cost a few quid
  21. Nothing has the same rattle as a Ifor
  22. I use spray grease from auto factors, not sure if thats the right thing to do though
  23. Also in my experience when you quote a domestic job always give a inclusive price, saves a lot of arguments and "can I pay cash for no vat" bartering later.
