  1. Not sure if rose tinted nostalgia can trump business reality now I'm approaching 40! I'll wait for my mid life crisis then buy it back
  2. Aye, I'd be amazed if that was 14 mtr
  3. Zero chance of heave, I'd leave it in
  4. Having major regret issues from selling mine after looking at last few photos! It's been sat in a field for two years since I sold it
  5. Good! Had an Rl with 300 petrol in it, savage fuel economy but it sounded awesome!
  6. Ooosshh! Gotta love a turner winch, had the same on my mk
  7. When my w ex lad started my insurance company were cool because he was 18, think it's slightly different if they are younger
  8. Matelot, what do you bring to this forum apart from your ultra right attitude?
  9. That's the thing though, these days it's often not a criminal act, it's actively encouraged/asked for in a lot of cases V cool graffiti that!
  10. Yeah, was a beaut, resistograph showed it had very little left, stump shot was 50cm above test points. client didn't want ongoing cost so down it came
  11. Yes, point taken👍🏻, I just personally wouldn't make a complaint that might lose someone their livelihood
  12. Ha, sounds exactly like one of my 'projects'!
  13. How you getting on with that winch you bought from me?
  14. I've bashed hundreds of willows viciously through the years, as far as I know they are all still plugging away!
  15. I reckon being aaac would defo open doors on the high end/ n trust side of things but for most domestics/commercial I've never heard them mentioned, the thing that I would like to know is what tangible difference have they made in the day to day running of everyone's working lives, and what have they actually done to improve tree work across the board? Genuine question. It does sometimes appear a self fufilling club that all though well intentioned doesn't achieve much? I'm gonna get shot down in flames I'm sure
  16. Some good points, I'm a sole trader/small business and like to think my tree work is of a very good standard, however the paperwork/business side is not my strong point, I'm fully insured and offer as good (I hope) a service as most aaac. I joined Checkatrade as this enables potential customers to have a look at references and feedback as well as photos which provides peace of mind. Yes ideally I'd be aaac but realistically I wouldn't pass the officey side of it, and tbh it comes across almost like a franchise?
  17. Aye, same a few miles up the road, makes me glad to be alive after yesterday!!
