  1. You've had enough cake, fatty.
  2. Fourteen hours! For some people that would be two days work.
  3. Ben. How much (processor friendly) round timber would you expect to process in eight hours? I know there are many things to take into account. I'd just like a rough idea.
  4. I got it. I do come from the Miderlands mind!
  5. Steve, I did not brand you a Nazi. Please re-read my post.
  6. You make this country sound like Nazi Germany. Or that you would like it to go that way.
  7. The thread don't need closing! I think I know what you are getting at. If I was paying a Oner a day for "basic" labour I would expect whoever I was paying to earn their dough. Ya just need to word things a bit differently.
  8. I see! So if I was to buy a LOOSE cube of, lets say Ash I would get more logs than if I bought a loose cube of oak?......think I get what ya mean.
  9. Don't matter, it's a ton/tonne. All the same mate:sneaky2:
  10. I spoke to a mate of mine today about this, he employs eight lads. His first comment was, half of my lot don't even walk at a decent pace. His next comment was he'd get knocked out for even suggesting running. Made me smile.
  11. It's dead easy. Pay and be paid! Pat Ferret told me that one. Work smarter not harder! Easy lift guy. My own saying is, look after those who look after you.
  12. What do you pay them for the afternoon? Nah, a Oner a day is GOOD money for a young'un. I thought those days were gone!
  13. Looking on from the sideline. I'd say arb work is a doddle. Get a proper job!
  14. I've only got a small insight in to the young lad thing through other companies I do some work for. One company had a young lad on for them who was bang on the button, show him what to do and he could do it, only problem was he could not get out of bed in the morning! So he got the DCM. The other young lad was next door to useless. Although it seems like something has clicked with him just recently and he's coming along well know.
