  1. Our prisons will be completely full by July, a summer of rioting? Whats the answer, more prisons, or send less people to jail? If it’s more prisons, where should they be built?
  2. This is going to be tedious. I didn’t know about them, the boss man is part of a franchise, another franchisee was retiring, it was agreed the boss could stray into the next area to do the pumps, no other drainage work. He posted on a Facebook (drainage) group that I’m a member of saying he wanted a pump engineer in the North Staffs, Sourh Cheshire area. At the time I had itchy feet and was after a move. It made sense, he’d got the pump stations, I’d draw a wage off him.
  3. Rock and a hard place, Joe. I need him as much as he needs me. He pays every week on time. In November 2021 he took on 162 pumping stations over three industrial estates that aren't far from here, and to be fair they are money for old rope. He just needs to leave me alone to look after them.
  4. Who are you to argue, if you are the more experienced person I’d say it’s your place to put your point across. We knew the diameter and the length of the riser, I told him draining it back would flood the chamber, he wouldn’t listen until it was to late, then we sit about for three hours waiting for a tanker, he’s cost me time and himself call out charges for a tanker. As I said earlier, I’m there to earn us both money.
  5. Why, If someone is paying you to do the job why get involved?Give me the job card, parts, and an extra pair of hands and it will be sorted. Each to their own, I guess.
  6. I care, I’m to long in the tooth to be told about a job I’ve done since you were a kid. We’ve sorted it, for now, and I’ve picked up some other work.
  7. Yes, he knows he's rattled me and now wants me to call him. I wouldn't dream of mouthing to him, I'll be polite but firm. If I need a second pair of hands it's his son, or I'm out. Slowly calming down... I'll give myself blood pressure!
  8. It is, the work is handy though, little travelling because it’s a franchise and they can’t go out of their territory, he’s just pissed me off. He text me earlier asking me to call him. When I’m off my high horse I’ll see how I feel.
  9. I’m beginning to think you are right, if he won’t take my word he can shove it. I’m there to help him, not to be told what I’m doing. All he needs to do is give me the job and I’ll sort it. I’ve had a ring around this morning and got another start, and speaking to his other subbie he’s coming with me. I just don’t get why he would employ two blokes to do a job he doesn’t know then not listen to them.
  10. Yes of course, but when I tell him he needs a tanker and he insists he doesn’t, then he finds out we do it pisses me off, I’m there to earn me and him money, not to be told about a job I’ve done for many years. You are tight though. Remember the golden rule, he who has the gold makes the rules. He’ll loose two experienced subbies before long if he isn’t careful. It swings both ways.
  11. I’ve been out with the boss man today, I usually pair up with his son if it’s a two man job, he’s sound. Anyway, when I started with this bloke it was because I know pumps, that was November 2021, today he’s telling me where I’m going wrong about replacing some valves. It boils my piss, perhaps it’s just me? I’m sure we can all think of better/easier ways of doing the job, but he knows nothing about pumping stations, that’s why I work for him. Rant over. Can you tell he’s wound me up?
  12. Yes, of course he has photo ID like a lot of us, there are many that don’t though, but you’ll choose to ignore that. I’m working with a charity in Stoke at the moment, you wouldn’t believe how many people come in there that haven’t even got a bank account, never mind photo ID. Any way trig, I’ve got to pull now, catch ya later.
  13. Bojo has a diplomatic passport that he’s admitted he’s never shown, (do you want another link) he is also Visa free. But we’ll rock on with your thinking, one rule for him and another rule for the rest of us.
  14. Ok, we’ll have it your way. More laws/rules imposed on us all by people who don’t think those laws/rules should apply to them, good luck with that. Can you see why I’ve tried to drop out of the system, best I can? I don’t want leading by people who don’t want to play the same game I have to play. Have a good day, I’ve got to wind the jacks and move.
  15. Strongly held POV or not, the former PM said, If he was asked to provide photo ID he’d take it out of his wallet and physically eat it, yet me and you should provide photo ID? No wonder the place is in the state it is! As I mentioned pages back, If any of us wanted to vote fraudulently we could ask for a postal vote and no photo ID would be needed. Go figure, Marcus.
  16. Yea, but it’s a very small minority of PROVEN illegal votes. Should we have it this way, where he won’t have an ID card but we will?
  17. Probably because the vast majority of the left are the poorest in society, so less likely to have photo ID. And the fact that at the last GE a tiny number of people were found to be voting illegally. And, also you me our anyone else could get a postal vote, I stand to be corrected but I don’t think you need ID for a postal vote.
  18. Only because you know both of us are close to getting blocked from this forum, or you’d be running your mouth. I care neither way. Night Andy.
  19. Nothing weird about what he said, you just tried to make it look that. Why would an educated law man try to educate an argumentative man?
  20. This is what happens when you think you are smart all the time, Alex is a law graduate, who probably knows better than you on this one. You don’t know when to wind it in. Catch ya later.
  21. My apologies Rich, I thought your old fella had bought Spaniels recently. These pups will be trained to the gun, well, as much as young pups can be, if £1500 is the going rate that’s what I’ll have to pay.
  22. I can’t remember the last time I picked a magazine up, I’ll get one or two tomorrow and have a look.
  23. Ta, I’ve only ever bought/kept working Spaniels and bitch pups tend to draw more money than dogs.
  24. Nice looking dog mate, would you mind asking your dad what he paid. Not that it makes much difference, the bloke who has the pups I’m thinking about isn’t going to move on price, I either pay it or look elsewhere. Speaking to the gamekeeper I had my last two Spaniels off he seem to think they are overpriced.
