  1. That’s because it isn’t a shared drain until one of your neighbours drains joins your lateral. From that point on it is shared and the responsibility of your water authority.
  2. Correct any shared drain in England is the responsibility of the sewerage undertaker, 2011 was the year of change.
  3. I get another MK6, there are still some tidy tippers about, it just takes hours, days scrolling through the internet to find one.
  4. I’m about, unlike my school days.
  5. Down to Dover for this one, it better get me home! If all goes well I’ve got it sold already.
  6. Having nearly 30 years in the wastewater industry I don’t think there is an answer, years ago works were in the middle of nowhere, sewage farms, when they were turned into sewage treatment plants they were still in the middle of nowhere, over the years all the land around treatment plants was sold off for housing, there simply isn’t the space to increase capacity. EO’s were always consented in storm conditions, now pumping stations and works go into EO due to lack of capacity. I can’t see it changing any time soon,
  7. Keep it.
  8. No, I hadn’t seen that before, looks well. I bet they are strong money.

    Splitys

I know they make good money, but £26k really? Or I’m I that far behind the times?
  10. That sounds like a plan came together.
  11. Long time no speak b0D, similar when I was last on the books, yard was 45 minutes away, so could be long days, but when they could they gave me the jobs in South Suffolk, Essex, only downside was I copped London.
  12. Thinking about this you must be on first name terms with everyone that lives there…
  13. Out your way last week, down in the valley for a couple of days. Nice to see the dairy cattle.
  14. Second class transport beats first class walking every time.
  15. Possibly, but normally road names around toll booths give them away, names like Westgate, Denesgate. I posted the picture on a canal forum, it was suggested it could have been a gauging booth but it’s to far away from the cut for that. @monkeybusinessthis isn’t far from you, any idea?
  16. My thoughts about you my friend.
  17. From what I see the SV’s are a much later addition, the brickwork and down pipe are Victorian? There is a guided tour around the town that I may take a mooch along to soon. Having a read up the local historians can’t agree what it was.
  18. The rigours and torments, I honestly don’t know how you cope with the stress and anxiety.
  19. Never in the history of man!
  20. You rebel.
  21. Go on then, give us your opinion. Mine is only a guess.
  22. This is near my flat, they call it an apartment these days🤣 Many stories surround it, from a place that lead to a pub where crooks were taken via a tunnel to a pub for their last drink before they were hung at the local church, to a priest hole. What you reckon? If it’s any help the road it is on is called Canal Street.
  23. A recent thread got me thinking how far do you travel, not the overseas lads, you tree surgeons. I used to do easily 200-250 miles a day from the Suffolk/Essex border up to the North Norfolk coast, much more time travelling than grafting but just as tiring. What’s your distance from base? I sub for a franchise know so the travel is restricted by the area we can cover which is much better in my mind as I don’t enjoy driving anymore.
  24. If it is I give up, you can throw a 🎾 from south Norfolk to Stow.
  25. Steve Bullman, know of anything that way?
