  1. yup my current day rate as a climber is appauling
  2. thats also what i think, i do not have as much experiance as most on here but 100-120 is for a mediocar climber surely...... not someone with plenty of experiance, supplying own kit and getting shafted by fuel expences and taxes like everyone else!!
  3. Evening all, i know this subject has been covered quite a bit..... PLease don't take what i say out of context when i say "i want to speed my climbing up" I do want to speed the climbing up but i also want to have less friction etc and possibly self tending etc.... i consider prussic to be good and adequate for most stuff but on some tree's i know there's easier setups to have. I usually have a pulley at my anchor point if its a good sized tree but this is usually fixed..... i'm going to have to look at a retreivable one.... what i'm thinking of is what friction hitch/setup to go for i like the look of the hitch climber, you can also attatch the saw to the centre hole Setup is not too dear on the pocket Or using the pinto and a friction hitchalso quite cheap Or using a spiderjack/lockjack of which i have never used or seen..... more expensive but if i were to be more efficient when ive got used to it, it would outweigh the cost..... any advice on which to go for?? got a slack'ish week next week so thought i could order up and get used to something new cheers for any input thanks chris
  4. sub me in

nowt up with that chipper what does it weigh?? its a diesel isn't it? and what capacity and twin rollers??
  10. yeah its still running like a good'un
  11. Also did you chop some out of the chute?? i was thinking to either do this or put a hinge on it to fold it over....
  12. yeah i'd like to go the diesel route one day possibly, but at the moment the little petrol can take lots that i throw at it!! seen a few bits that need attention like the exhaust has a hole in the bottom, just spotted today lol i thought about possibly stripping it in the winter getting it blasted and painted as my uncle is a car painter its a cracking chipper for the money i have in it and it enables me to earn a wage etc and is paying its way
  13. thought it may be your old machine?? i bought it off your mate and it had your stickers on it lol
  14. i wish lol, i must admit, its done me proud over the past few months with the few jobs i've been doing
  15. I'm just wondering where i can get some spares for my vermeer 620i chipper? Struggled for a while to get an air filter for it! but managed to get one the other day, Are the parts just vermeer only? i'll be on the lookout for a new drive belt soon i think as the adjuster is on full and there is still a lot of slack in the belt... Is there anywhere i can find maintainance tips for the chipper and belt tensions etc? This is my first chipper and want to keep on top of it so it will last me a while Any advice and help appreciated
  16. Any help with this?? struggling
  17. good shout
  18. true..... but the belts will slip or the engine would stall due to the wood blocking the blades must have tried it a fair few times to do that to the belt though, before investigating properly buy a fresh belt and keep as a spare till that goes
  19. yes, i am now of the opinion of this, once i've made some money this year and see how it goes, there will be a fresh chipper next year on the horizon hopefully
  20. Your in my neck of the woods..... i found it very hard to get a chipper anywhere near us! i had to travel down to bristol to get mine..... i looked at gravity fed machines..... but i managed to get a vermeer 620i instead for reasonable money keep searching something will pop up
  21. yeah i was let down on a job for today at 5 oclock yesterday.... not as bad as turning up on site though!! its a pain in the arse isn't it!!!
  22. i'm in the same boat as you lol, try and move to next position and its there holding you back wrapped around your legs..... or you lift yourself up and try to stand in a fork for instance and your stood on it so can't stand up lol
  23. where abouts in lancashire are you??
