  2. Can I ask how heavy is the JB? Did it wag much when the trailer was full?
  3. Ive been toying with putting my wee chipper on the back of the trailer on a removable platform but now Ive seen this I might give this a try! Cant be that hard to move the pump and oil tank on the ifor williams underneath next to the battery can it?
  4. Theres climbing job advertised in Chester
  5. hey buddy,

I didn't have to provide one and my stuff was 3 months old. You should be fine without one. Who told you that?

All I took was my harness and PPE (helmet - dont need saw trousers for 38) didnt take my ropes etc as I thought I'd wear theirs out!

Good luck with it - is Selwyn your instructor? If so ask what my rescue time was!! Was 5seconds of the record! Take it easy and you will be fine.

  8. Would you be counting "labour only" as someone with cs38 to groundie/be there in event of accident?
  9. Thanks all for your points, very helpful as always!
  10. I did my 38 a month or so ago now and we were told to have our strop on the side D's. These were all that held us when we advanced our climbing line further up the tree to the next anchor point, so if we fell that would be all that had us. Whilst on my 39 I had both ends of my strop on one side D ring to gain a good work position and the asessor was quite happy?!
  11. Thanks TCD, thats virtually what I had in mind.
  12. YES I have insurance and the guy I have helping me is doing his CS38 this week. Now that's out the way would anyone be so kind as to give me there opinion on what to charge. Thanks
  13. Good man, nice one !!

  15. I have a price and timescale in mind but as I'm fairly new to the game I want to compare it to what you exp boys would charge. The chip is to be left on site as is the Poplar and Ash for firewood. I will be using my little Greenmech chipper and have one other lad helping me, he has CS30/31 so can do a lot of the groundwork in terms of logging. The site is 15 mile from my house and the customer is my old Design teacher! Pollard 2 Poplars back to where they were done before. Tidy up the drive area. Remove 3 Ash trees, there are 2 in the pic with the conifer in it one hiding behind the one in front similar height (30ft ish) but leaning over the road very slightly. Cheers folks.
  16. Thanks for that, going for another look on Tues to check it thoroughly as they are servicing it before they release it. Find out about the shoot after the first use!! Always make sure i finish of with a bushy piece!

  21. First 2 are on a Beech most of the way up but only on one side. There seems to be a lot of bark peeling of the stems towards the top of the tree. There is a slight lean on the tree towards the mold, customer is thinking of taking it down but I'd like to know what it is first! 3rd is on a Yew that is losing a lot of leaf and going brown. 4th is on a Damson that looks in bad shape. Any help and recommendations would be great!
  22. Thanks mate!
  23. Passed the 39 yesterday, very easy assess really. Was up the tree for 25 mins. I do think the course should be a little harder as I only had to do 8 cuts. Anyway if anyone needs a hand anywhere then let me know!!!!
