  1. Swedish Whitebeam is (I think) hybrid of whitebeam and rowan. Fairly common ornamental.I NOW DON'T KNOW IF HYBRID BECAUSE ALSO DESCRIBED AS A SUB SPECIES - I wouldn't think a hybrid is a sub species.
  2. The first one looks more like S. cinerea- grey sallow. There are 2 subspecies. However willows hybridise, therefore what looks like a particular variety or species may in fact be a hybrid with a parent that may look nothing like it. Etc, etc.. The bottom willow looks more like Salix caprea(goat), but it has slight characteristics of S. phylicifolia/tea leaved willow. This I think is only found naturally in Northern England and further north. Nice mature specimen whatever it is.
  3. What part of British isles is this?
  4. Maybe the tree officer is mates with the developer. Put your concerns in planning objections. Contact your chief planning officer and district councillor (s). You have to create a lot of noise... Sounds a bit 'corrupt'...
  5. £16-40 for a straw bale🤠. Someone is very good at marketing if all this brash, etc. is selling. 🙉
  6. Just asking for advice regarding tree survey pricing for risk assessment/health and safety For single trees? For example a school grounds with10-20 trees. I have PTI and VALID. Looking to diversify into this field, Thanks
  7. Your title sums it up- willow is not shade tolerant.

  13. Force-X Anile8er TCT Carbide Cluster Blade - 230mm WWW.MAD4TOOLS.COM Heavy duty blades with solid chunks of solid tungsten carbide brazed to an extra strong steel body. CNC...
  14. Any advice please on cutting palm trees down? I think Chusan Palms. Do fibres jam the sprockets? A lot of leaves at the top. Maybe A blow torch first🔥A few years ago I had to use brushcutter blade for cordylines. These have a few obstacles in the garden to avoid, so will need doing in sections. Not big trees, maybe 18ft.max Thanks
  15. Never judge a willow by it's haircut. Six months time- unrecognisable 🕺
  16. Bulk Log Saw Horse 3 | Safely Chainsaw Multiple Logs | Forest Master FOREST-MASTER.COM Buy the Forest Master Bulk Log Saw Horse 3. The bulk log stand is capable of safely securing multiple... gonna try this one, cheap enough...
  17. Good idea, not seen them before 👍
  18. Timber Croc Log Holder for Chansaw TIMBERCROC.COM Our flagship product, The Timber Croc Log Holder is designed and manufactured in Ireland and is... Old thread - anymore experience of the timber croc? Are the cheaper ones as good or just crocs of shit? For small scale firewood processing ( not requiring splitting) would a timber croc type and chainsaw be faster than using a circular saw ( with 'moving bench' type).. personally I'm thinking chainsaw be quicker for small stuff?? Considering a branch logger which looks quickest by a long way- just that's a lot of sticks to get the money back on cost. Crytec one bigger engine and much cheaper than the Eastern European ones- but they seem to sell stuff for a while then discontinue?? Parts maybe an issue..
  19. Correction- it shows Foxwood in stock.£4800 nearly. Bit dear when a Chinese equivalent for £3k less- albeit cheaper components.
  20. I looked on their website but it just showed an older model and was out of stock 🙁
  21. X-SERIES™ | Wood Chippers SKARPER® SKARPER-PROFESSIONAL.COM SKARPER® X-SERIES™ compact wood chippers: Precision-engineered for arborists. Unmatched speed... Anyone know much about these? They look a lot more refined than the previous models. Wondered if the same company? Were the previous Dutch? I'm not sure if Haeksler(?) and them were supposed to be from same company ( and Foxwood??) Can't find a UK dealer but they look as if they'd be very expensive...
  22. Yes, buy a good Bulldog spade. Forged in India, shafted in Wigan (might need fact checking) .
  23. If the govt wants to ban/outlaw anything then give life imprisonment to all the tw@ts that burn plastic on bonfires. My pet fu¢king hate.
  24. https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/calls-ban-wood-burning-stoves-9088095?gaa_at=la&gaa_n=AZsHK_muCZtVo6dG5ytWRfPbM2j0Hz3ZKYO7gnEoT6w8cpYe-90mfTPrM5BBmi4rjQo%3D&utm_source=newsshowcase&utm_medium=discover&utm_campaign=CCwqGQgwKhAIACoHCAowh6H9CjDey_QCMMeMmwIwwPjLAg&utm_content=bullets&gaa_ts=65c7d36c&gaa_sig=T8XXbHgMhjZZFEMrRTAOBRuVIBQP_8KFwtWF7nvC4b8DZHBNf-PT7CQ_DO6CEq-mTREni0GUDs3HIDEf8D-zcQ%3D%3D
  25. It might not be that bad an idea- depends on who else is doing them in your area. I'm on my 5th 'inspector' in about 15 years. 2 stopped doing them, one was too expensive ( about 75% dearer), one never replied to messages. So if you're reliable and reasonably priced I'd say there is a market.
