  1. If you remember a few years ago we had a 'War on Terror '. Govt. Stated the Cold War threat was over. Now they seem to have brushed this fundamentalist terrorism under the carpet - Al Qaeda, Taliban, etc. It's a dream come true for these organisations - they could rise up at any moment. Have you forgotten 9/11, Manchester bomb, and the recent murders in Stockport that we're not allowed to mention?
  2. Isn't this more to do with capital allowances - i.e. what amount you can put through the books when you buy a vehicle for business use? Last time I looked it was something like 6% you could put down as opposed for all (?) with a van. I suppose annual tax we'll all get screwed with most vehicles.
  3. The promo video could demo it better- with Reg talking rather than him climbing to music🥴
  4. Farmers "betrayed" by Labour's £1m inheritance tax relief limit - BBC News WWW.BBC.CO.UK Changes announced to inheritance tax rules could see the end of small family farms, warns the NFU.
  5. I've got the small loop handle Maruyama for light work. Very impressed with it. Had it a few years after using very good Shindaiwas. Never had the longevity from Echo despite the claims that they are same engine.
  6. This article states government won't introduce pay per mile. However if they do I would guess it would be on top of flat rate. I suspect many of us have spare vehicles that do a low annual mileage where solely an annual mileage would otherwise be cheaper. Also would this tinpot commie govt. have the organisational skills to get the civil service to devise a system and implement it rapidly. No doubt we will get absolutely f##cked on vehicle duty.
  7. https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/government-has-no-plans-to-introduce-pay-per-mile-vehicle-road-pricing#:~:text=Sustainable Mobility-,Government has no plans to introduce,per-mile vehicle road pricing&text=The Government has insisted it,duty just over £25bn.
  8. Very clever, the c word is replaced by 'babe'. Not government intervention I hope.
  9. He is a prize babe along with his thick as pig shit side kicks. Is swearing allowed? The worst government I have known in this country.
  10. I'd always been told that the actual tree firm was responsible/ liable and not the owner - I'd thought it was unfair. Obviously I'd been told incorrectly.
  11. Man fined after six 100-year-old trees were illegally felled outside £700,000 house WWW.THETELEGRAPHANDARGUS.CO.UK A MAN has been fined after admitting responsibility for felling of six protected oak trees, each...
  12. I expect this limb looked healthy...
  13. You might have issues with house insurance?? I wouldn't want a tree that close to my house whatever it's size..
  14. There is a good Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/674669216016663/?locale=en_GB
  15. I suspect the soil level was raised at rear of this lime 10-12 years ago. It's in reasonable health/vigour. Would there still be a benefit to the tree of attempting to restore the original ground level around the butt? Thanks
  16. Just a quick blast with some small diameter stuff - it is pretty impressive the speed of it. However I do need to test on some bigger stuff. Tree work taken a backseat at moment... The gear box is a bit iffy- selection temperamental.
  17. I imported this jonco tracked chipper direct from China. I think it was a bit over 3k with shipping and vat at import. Not had chance to use properly.
  18. Thanks, that's more or less what I was thinking 👍
  19. With regards to surveying an 'urban forest ' ( if that term still in fashion) with a network of paths- impractical and not necessary to plot all the trees, would it be good practice to plot all the bigger trees ( eg.45cm plus diameter) and record data, OR just trees where significant features are found that could potentially be an issue? The woodland is not dense, and about 10 acres. Thanks
  20. I might have cuttings available in winter - year old ones though, not the long ones that you generally see 'planted'. It seems to be the favoured method, although I think smaller would potentially be better although possibly more labour intensive.. I know why they put long ones in- supposed to be straighter, etc. However I've seen some slightly crooked ones lately..Take more effort to plant as well..
  21. Probably just leave it- except take the string off it. It looks like a wilted ear fungus.
  22. Are you looking to buy harvestable trees or cuttings to plant?
  23. Not possible to tell from photo. It may be affected by fungi, etc. Damaged roots, etc....
  24. Swedish Whitebeam is (I think) hybrid of whitebeam and rowan. Fairly common ornamental.I NOW DON'T KNOW IF HYBRID BECAUSE ALSO DESCRIBED AS A SUB SPECIES - I wouldn't think a hybrid is a sub species.
