  1. depends on each tree. and type of gum/euc it is. as there are like over 700 speices i think, some are strong some are weak and shed branches. So it down to working with good practice's and selecting good anchor points etc etc. Geoff advise was very good i thought tho. You can feel in the tree as well, make sure you observe how the wood holds/ breaks and moves when you do your cuts etc. Cheers MOG
  2. Nice a good bit of friendly competition:) is always good fun. funny just found this post, as i was doing the same last nite but with pulls and in the reverse order as i reckon counting down helps. push up's got to 11.5, i reckon 17 is defo achievable, couple of months:) niceone Mark cheers for the post and makeing a good challenge. Cheers MOG
  3. Nooooooo not the ERGO! lol maybe gd for takedowns tho, u big bad tree killer;p

    throw bag

defeatists trick? nar cos the bag mite drop out the other side or atleast you have the line back so u can attach another bag and throw up again and retrieve it. and the other trick, u get more practice by throwing up again. haha if you take 2 cubes then you will never have to walk home:biggrin: used to walk my ex's dog with a throwbag get it swinging and just goes back and forth. but lots of slobber when you push ur luck and get to close to the dogs mouth. haha tired them out hardout and good fun. 7 years and no throwlining, you must love street trees and hedges Cheers MOG

    throw bag

But what about getting. THE SHOT! FIRST SHOT! man how good does that feel, if there was no bad there would be no reward always 2 sides. Couple of little tricks tho is to make a little cut couple inch from the bag and when u pull it will snap there.( i personally dont use this method but seen it done and work) the other is, get your (hopefully) second throwbag/line and throw higher and parallel with the other. drop bag to ground line perfect line with the other and clip bineer on to stuck throwbag and then pull all the way up and it should pull the stuck bag outta the crocth and lower to the ground. i use that abit and works very well, just have to get the SHOT haha. but alot of the time instead of fannying about its quicker just to go back up, but its all practice what ever way you look at it. Cheers MOG
  6. great work, really cool to see. Cheers MOG

  11. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC_wY_ylxME]A Technical Tree - YouTube[/ame] thats the final one. finally Grant Cody was climbing until the Lunch and i was groundie, then we swapped and camera died bummer. Cheers MOG
  12. all depends on what rope and hitchcord you use. as they are so work so different on different ropes, sizes and cord. i tried loads of different ropes and hitches,8mm and 10mm Distel/knut/vt etc etc etc and so on with ropes. mainly around 11-12mm, due to weight and finally decided on Tachyon 11.5mm with 10mm bee-line. at 1.4m in length tieing fisherman's with good tails. hope that helps, but as a gernal rule 1.5m is a good length. Cheers MOG
  13. Cheers guys thanks heaps for the comments. enjoying sharing. Tree was in Yarra Valley in Victoria, Melbourne, Australia. small pulleys? not sure what u mean there sorry? guessing not the redirect? yeah dunno what happen with vid was a huge mess about, getting it sort and still not right as, its suppose to have sound chainsaws talking etc. and better sound track but the powers at be would let it happen. Anyways to cut a long story short i redone it with a different track not ideal but should have sound too. i just swap it with the old one, i think the talking in it is the best bit. Cheers MOG
  14. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMHSD40IlvU[/ame] Sorry guys but no music on this one, sucks but thats the way it goes sometimes. Cheers MOG
  15. @ adam cost me @$720 $au. with 14inch bar and chain, i reckon its pretty much the same really. i only done half a day with it so far so i keep u updated after a week or so. we did a race cutting a log compare to MS200 was too fair as my chain was new, but 201 was faster but i reckon if they where both new chains it be the same. Cheers mog
  16. time is money Bristo, time is money......
  17. Sweet as bro, cheers for the info. Sounds like a cool place to be then. thanks MOG
  18. if this is any help i dunno but..... bought a saw from honey brothers sent to Ozzy but Ups must of been on plane as came within couple weeks. had fuel and oil in as it had been test run. fuel leaked out of bar bit and quater of tank still in it. and no worries at all! thats the MS 201. but i know NZ are gay as on import tax as anything over $100 u have to pay as Oz is $1000. anyway long story short i would ring Honey Brothers and speak to them as they would know best. Hope that helps. MOG
  19. sorry guys, i try and sort it this wk. shame tho was awesome sound track. pixes, smashing pumpkins and pink floyd bummer
  20. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUkBt61iSWA[/ame] things in Ozzy. was great fun but i think the key here is knowing your limits. Cheers MOG
  21. funny guy! Why not just put splice through the bigger splice or ring? choked and no knots? or am i missing something here? MOG
  22. yeah bro, but use it for work positioning and sometimes instead of taking my main landyard off. as i said before it is my secondary landyard. and i rated my anchor point before i load it too:biggrin:. this is back to the points of knowing your gear. knowing your trees and commonsense. i try and get some pic's up. tomz MOG
  23. cinch and spectra speed, and AP and ropeman as a secondary landyard. trying it recently and is working very well can get in the way sometimes but handy as. just have it coiled on my lower D's. great for better positioning and those times were u out on a limb and need to take off ur landyard and move higher. yes yes i know u can use ur footlocking strop or have one another setup on the end of ur landyard. but come on, can u be arsed to use it? lol thats my rant over then;p but it is working well for me MOG
  24. whats happening binging:) tried that slackline over the same distance but low down and its the movement in the line that messed us up/ way harder to balance. needs to be way tighter over such a large distance. loving the fact u customise the rope wrench so its mid-line, way cooler. Keep up the good work, be instersting to see the next one? or is that the finish? Cheers Matt Glen
  25. thanks guys, thats a big help. looking forward to it
