  1. Well she did just say can u get my cat down from the tree she never said dry and alive
  2. They did say the only way they could get it down would mean it would be soakin wet and 200 yards in the wrong direction
  3. Same here to say we should leave them alone doesn't that mean we should plant trees and that's it we'd be out of a job looks good to me rupe
  4. Isn't it dodgy to sharpen them yourself thoug don't they need to be the same weight for balance etc or is that bull
  5. I'm mostly a Stihl lad but them 372s impressed me the go like stink for the size and feel smooth also the 395 my old boss has been in the game for 50 yr and reckons the 395 is the best saw he has ever used
  6. Looks like you got the wrong set mate wonder if it's an idea to get them engraved might do it myself incase this happens to me some lucky bugger got some better blades by the look of things
  7. Nice work mate looks good and natural I love how so many different views on tree work from that bad lime reduction to this nice one someone will love it or hate it
  8. Am a soft touch for a damsel in distress mate, expected to see a cat all skiing and half asleep after been up there since sat was fat and very lively damn thing think I need a catapult in the kit back for such jobs
  9. munter is even more unsafe. Haha sounds funny we used to call ugly lasses a munter
  10. We got a call to rescue a cat today been up the tree since sat with it's kitten crying at the bottom aaarrgh! Thought it was gonna be fun wasn't at all the little bugger kept running to the end of branches then when I got there it jumped to the next then other trees I was nakered felt like I'd reduced the trees 5 times over. Firemen turned up with a big blanket under us while me and owa youngen managed to catch it put it in a bag and lower it down job done was a laugh to remember
  11. As long as you explain it to the customer and they maintain it there won't be a problem and like tom said it will get done anyway money might as well be ours wish I had a pound for every pollard I've done in the street for councils
  12. Just think if someone is struggling for money and saying they wouldn't pollard a tree they would turn the job down it's daft just my opinion trees get pollarded and come back looking fine wonder if the lad who started this thread hasn't wrote back because he's too busy you never know ha
  13. Agree with you 100 percent mate I've also worked with people who take off too little too in my opinion climbing 40 to 50 foot trees and fair play to them getting right out on the tips but using snippers spending ages making say a sycamore for one instance into a perfect ball it's a skill but I hate it and seen one they done a while ago and the re growth looks crap
  14. If a customer wants a heavy topping to help with light and leaves problems il try encourage them to have a say 20 percent reduction and light thin any more in my opinion Will look good to start but reaction growth takes over more leaves and bigger leaves hence worse than before then they might have me back quicker but it's wasting their money but if they want a tree hitting hard il do it to hear people are struggling and they wouldn't do a job makes me laugh I have a wife and kids on the way I'd shovel crap in the middle of the night to make money
  15. Nothings tight I just wouldn't turn work down I love trees just love money too
  16. Don't know what that hobos bit is these bloody I phones lol meant it's still a job
  17. Must take some balls mate when your struggling respect your morals but to be honest I would never leave a tree in a dangerous state but if I'm allowed to pollard a tree and looks a bit crap il try my best to persuade the customer otherwise but I would do it a hobos a job and it's the customer who pays my wages I love trees and love them looking natural same as anyone on here
  18. I think sometimes goin a little slower making it easier for the groundsemen makes the job quicker it's not how fast you get it on the deck always
  19. Gotta say though think using your company name as your username is a bit silly
  20. Nice pics though mate love crane jobs
  21. That's right mate it's all about practice and having someone experienced to teach I love taking big trees down and think I'm pretty good and confident at it but with reductions your learning all the time and can pick little faults all the time I always want to perfect them more or think I could of done better. With this in mind I wouldn't tell someone their work is crap it's not goin to learn them nowt or give them confidence I wonder how many people would give him the same stick to his face when not sat behind a computer
  22. I wouldn't put that on mine like either mate a bit of gentle criticism might of resulted in a reply from the lad in the start wonder if he does?
  23. I've got a customer with a large chestnut far too close to her garage and with poor form should go really and re-plant something better but she doesn't want it taken out at all so wants it halved a pollard really and it will look crap but if I don't do it someone else will it's all money
  24. Doesn't look the best like but think it's too easy to have a go at people it will put other people off posting I almost didn't join incase of these things happening, with reductions it's hard to get a good picture too I've done good reductions before and took a pic on my phone and they look as good because they don't pick everything up, hope the lad isn't just going to delete himself off here. I think bad workmanship is sometimes down to the tutors I've seen people get pushed through courses because they yes men to the tutors or because the dole shoves them on the course too many people pass who shouldn't in my opinion
