  3. Don't know if this really applies to the thread but I worked away all the time for more money but I just spent more cos I was bored kept doin this until my friend sophie died of cancer at 23 I realised I was missing out on so much moved back home and realised how rich I was not in money but with the friends I have and family you don't realise after working away for so long how good it feels hearing your best mate laugh or just talk crap I've learned to love what I've got instead of what I haven't
  4. I won't ever know probably fair play to you mate glad you enjoying your job nice to see you dishing out some good advice on here keep it up mate
  5. Il try that one Stephen, we go on about the stress but I think we thrive on it really otherwise we would just sit in a factory. I go through stages of making fantastic money then crap money I won't be a millionaire but I think we do the best job in the world Reading your posts I'm sure you feel the same I've thought about winning the lottery and would still do tree work just have loads of over the top gear even if it didn't make a profit ha
  6. 10. Hi chris just been looking at your posts see you round my neck of the woods and you just started up we have too just wanna say good luck mate hope it works out for you heard of a few people closing their firms and going abroad should be good news for us haha

  11. Like sawdust said bosses hear so many people go on about how amazin they are and they just aren't not sayin your one of them but they need to see you in action take the low rate and it will go up when they see you on
  12. You don't ring for jobs with that attitude do you? That will get you nowhere like mate it's not just about how good you are you need to fit in be enjoyable to be around on site you might be good but if you rub people up the wrong way u won't have a job. I have the same experience and if I had no work I'd work for 50 a day like someone said it's better than 0 a day if your as good as you say you are they will up your wages to keep you
  13. I've offered to do a couple of days for free to a company so they can see if they like me they always paid and I got the job shows your keen and you like to graft in my experience I've done similair when self employed just at a lower rate always worked for me, regarding well paid work I think most of it is abroad we've set ourselves up to see if it works as a last chance if it doesn't il leave the country I think we got to make our money while were young in this job or set a company up for when our bodys can't take the stress anymore
  14. That's what I was on about 4 year ago down heard lads were gettin more but loved where I worked

  17. The stihls are the kings in the air no points buying something that is almost there they last longer and sell better second hand sometimes a cheaper buy is false economy especially in thiscase
  18. I use that same method dean one of the best bits of advice in this job I think thought they taught it to everyone
  19. Cheers lads glad yous use the same cuts and like them I've learned a few cuts over the years but not always the names I just know what works for me and feels good I seen an old boy drop a tree with a real bad lean by penciling the bottom like a beaver would but with a saw not his teeth haha
  20. I was shown by a bloke when he cuts a big top off a tree mainly on willows etc he does his gob then cuts a bit out of either side of the gob so the hinge isn't as wide then the saw cuts faster and the top releases better works for me don't know if this cut has a name or if anyone likes it but I use it
  21. And me mate I hope he keeps doin well
