  1. Hi Jon, probably not what you're after but I,ve just felled a large beech and have a 3.5' diameter by 12' long bit of trunk and the rest ringed up near chew valley lake.
  2. Can you recommend a good tree is app for an android phone? The new fungi app looks good, will be getting that this evening.
  3. I have just bought an old 1998 125 and I am so impressed with it. It has a kohler 25 Ho petrol engine which I was a bit dubious about initially but it has been great. Sharp blades and it is very nearly as capable as a 150. Great piece of kit!
  4. Hi Timberwolf,

I have just bought my first chipper which is a '98 TW 125ph with a 2005 petrol 25hp kohler command engine and twin feed rollers fitted. Playing with it yesterday I noticed that the bottom feed roller would periodically stop rolling while the top one continued. Reversing the rollers briefly would cure it for a few minutes before happening again. Any ideas? Also there seems to be quite a build up of chips around the rollers, I had to leave it a while to let it eject all the chips. The belts seem tight.

    Many thanks

    Adam

  6. Well, sitting on my bar stool with a pint of real ale in my hand... I'd say this saw is completely redesigned. Hardly any common parts with the 260 and hasn't been properly field tested. I will be looking at Huskys now!
  7. I've wondered about this and suspect that apart from CS30 and stihl approved mechanics courses, the best way to learn is to tinker in the workshop. Take apart an old saw and put it together again.
  8. I have used the fun guy guide but each species can look so damn different at different life stages I can't be sure of what I'm looking at:confused1:
  9. Hi all, I found this bracket on the base of a mature Oak. It is enormous (2 foot long) and seems to have a dusting of spores around it. It is maroon coloured on top and creamy underneath. There is no obvious stalk therefore I have discounted Ganoderma lucidum but wonder if it may be G. resinaceum? Any help much appreciated.
  10. I found CS30 to be more theory than any of the following tickets so as long as you can get your head around different chain gauges, pitches etc you'll be fine. I would definitely recommend Terry McGovern.
