  1. Pretty well straight after that tachometer regs for trailer use came in!
  2. Sense does not enter the equation.... it was spoilt for sensible people the day the idiot in the Land Rover went down the railway embankment in Selby.....
  3. That's very interesting regarding the stretching, something I hadn't considered! Out of interest as the bags are labelled 1m3 how do you stand saying 1.2m3? As an experiment when next splitting I will fill my 1m3 telehandler bucket and then transfer to a bag!
  4. After trying the rest of ways we now split straight into bags held on telehandler forks. Then stacked in yard and/or barn on pallets, we mostly don't bother putting a pallet between the bags as they dry anyhow. On delivery we just empty out of bag so can be re-used loads of times. LC Packaging, Long Sutton, Lincs do some good 1m3 bags at reasonable cost and will (usually) split a bundle.
  5. AsI said, I bought privately in the end. Until then I was set to buy the Manitou from him. One thing to remember with the pivot steer machines is that they are inherently unstable on a slope when steered!
  6. He didn't have that when I went! It does look a bit scruffy! Based on deals he was offering me you would probably knock a bit off the online price. He's a decent enough bloke to speak to and will likely give you an honest appraisal if you call him.
  7. I nearly bought a telehandler from him before finding one privately. Seemed fairly honest in his descriptions and face to face was offering a better deal than advertised.
  8. Hertswood, do you cover the bulk bags or not?
  9. The last question is one that I would like answering. Surely 2.5 or 3m is the most economical size for handling? If it's then cut to 1m it is being handled unnecessarily, in my opinion!
  10. Pleased with the Manitou, Johny? Cheapest way to run splitter is with a small diesel (Lister/Petter), Dowty pump etc, ours runs on UNDER 5 litres red all day!
  11. Worth giving these guys a call, their very knowledgeable: Welcome to Ray Larrington Hydraulics Ltd in Linconshire
  12. Jones's have some class A on a good price deal ATM:thumbup1:
  13. My thoughts as well. I have to ask about how the environmental impact of drying the wood stacks up?
  14. Well that's certainly Wisbech phone number:thumbup1: I'll keep their details for future reference, every day is a new experience:biggrin:
  15. I've not heard of them. Maybe a bit of cross information? Watson Petroleum are at Regents Wharf, their number: 01945 582611. I've no idea if they have any Zetor parts, their is/was a Zetor dealer at Downham Market.
  16. If you need to get a pipe made it's worth getting one with PTFE lining, super tough and should put up with more twisting/pulling:thumbup1:
  17. TBF most houses we deliver to we can't get access to get undercover, round here the old architecture is very different to a lot of areas. I get how a deposit works but would rather not need to take it. Different strokes for different folks:thumbup: be boring if we were all the same:biggrin:
  18. Hmm, not sure about 'looks more professional'.I'm happy being an amateur if that's the case! I've never quite got my head around leaving bags with the customer, how can he move it? Plus you just end up buying more bags 'cos loads of them are out!
  19. Why don't you just put the bags in the back of the truck and throw the logs out at customers end? We do this out of a van, you can carry more because vehicle weighs less and it only takes 5 mins to empty a cube bag! Cuts out another piece of equipment that can go wrong as well!
  20. AFAIK the 628 is pivot steer and the 728 is non pivot 4 wheel steer, so they are different machines. Pivot steer is OK on level ground and doesn't have as much reach, also higher access into cab, an important point if you're on and off it a lot.
  21. Turned this up on the tube of you: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpRgy-c1QxU[/ame]
  22. Perkins Phaser, well pleased with the one I found:thumbup1:
