  1. Is it the 030 or 033 double pulley you have got mate? the first is designed for 10-12 mm ropes the second for 13mm max.
  2. Many thanks for your comprehensive reply:thumbup1: The plug is an ngk bpmr7a. It doesn't seem to get a carbon build up on it but for some reason giving it a quick brush seems to be the only way to get it going again. Top tip about the brass wire brush, I honestly didn't know that:blushing: I use a standard 50:1 mix using the standard Stihl (red) oil. Ill have a play with it over the next couple of days and keep you posted regarding results. Once again, many thanks.
  3. Good point Hama, also bear in mind if you take your dog to work that lepto is very serious in dogs so make sure vaccinations are up to date. Always amazes me how many people dont keep up their vaccinations:sneaky2: I know you lost your dog recently Hama, my sympathy. Just thought it was a point worth making for others reading.
  4. Nice workshop mate! wish i had somewhere like that to go and waste a few days, every so often. Although with my woodworking skills I would be doing just that, wasting my time.
  5. Hi, As title suggests really, got a stihl FS120 strimmer/ brushcutter. Starts fine from cold and will run fine for as long as you like. trouble is as soon as you turn it off it wont restart. I have found the only way to get it to restart is to take the plug out and give it a go with a wire brush. Pop the plug back in and it starts first pull. Its had a new plug, pretty sure the mixture is about right, any suggestions gratefully received.
  6. I agree with Hamadryad, Not really my taste either but looks like a nice job. Are those blocks for the retaining wall the ones with the little lip on the back so you can just built it up with no mortar? I like what you did with them regarding the shape of the wall. The building looks a little bit too much like a shed though for my liking.
  7. Happy April fools day mate.
  8. I agree mate, you cant always get the whole pic from a vid. I personally would have made a few more cuts and rigged those larger pieces down in smaller bits, if that was possible. I think the extra few mins and bit of energy would have been worth using. Forgive me for saying this but some of the cutting looked like it was rushed because the cutter didn't really trust what he was doing so just got through it quick to get it out the way. Thats just my take on the vid. At the end of the day its all on the floor, wasn't the nicest job and as others have said everyone lives to fight another day so:thumbup1:
  9. My dad was involved in a small accident whilst driving my brothers brand new car, he had been out of the car walking around but sat back in the car waiting for the police to turn up. Anyway, ambulance arrived and as he told them he had slight neck pain they wouldn't let him out of the car till the fire brigade cut the roof off. Needless to say, my brother wasn't best pleased.
  10. Makes ya mad when a stupid little design flaw causes you agro doesn't it. Makes you wonder who thought it was a good idea in the first place.
  11. All chainsaws are two handed saws mate. If you mean why were back handled saws used, its because you wouldn't get through that timber with a 200t:thumbup1:
  12. Wasn't criticising what you did mate, sounds like you did what you had to do. Just thought it was worth mentioning:thumbup1:
  13. Guess not but just thought it was a point worth mentioning. There is loads of publicity about not removing bikers helmets after an accident but exactyl the same advice should be followed for anyone involved in a fall. Its a subject quite close to home for me as my parents neighbour is paralized from the chest down after a fall off scaffold for just this reason.
  14. I had that problem for a couple of days Steve but all works fine now.
  15. Moving a bloke with a broken back isn't a risk worth taking to save any amount of money imo.
  16. Judging by the look on your face it might have been a bit tight. You know you have a decent sense of humour when your mate is being airlifted and you are buggering about with the blokes hat:001_tt2:
  17.
  18. Health and safety exec would prob want them both lolered.
  19. Sounds good. suppose backing up what they have already done is a good way to go. Like andy says, it looks well tested.
  20. cool, im just a quick trip down the M3 and M27 away. If I need an extra pair of hands for anything ill let you know.
  21. Just a thought but its a bit like being asked to put up a rope swing. If you have re attached it for them and for some reason it fails due to the new anchor points, it is you who will be getting a letter from their solicitors. I know its a shame we have to think like this but when I have been asked to do anything like this I always think ' how can I cover myself if something goes wrong'
  22. Agree that is an honest video so thought i'd give an honest response. Seems to me that the easy bits were rigged succesfully even though they could have been cut and chucked where as the more difficult bits which really needed a bit of decent rigging were either not rigged or just kind of half rigged with little effect. I know willow isn't nice to work on but I think the larger bits could have been rigged much more succesfully if they had been done properly. It also seems like some of the larger bits which were rigged were then cut as if no rigging was present at all. If anyone, or everyone:blushing:, disagrees with me please let me know why as if you all think the vid is ok I think I must be missing something.
  23. Yeh you are right. I just put bolt on terminals on the chipper.
  24. When i needed a battery for a little Bearcat chipper I took the battery out of my bike cos it was almost exactly the right size. Not sure about prices but might be worth popping to local bike dealer and see what they have got, or do a search for bike batteries on internet i suppose. Hope this helps.
  25. Where abouts in Hampshire are you mate?
