Still spreading bird seed along my field edges, not only does it give valuable seed to nesting birds but also sustains the mice and voles which in turn feed the barn owl who has six hungry mouths to feed!

Well the fire brigade were called by the house holders! When i turned up there was a fireman up the tree with no safety kit using a cordless Bosch saw! Apparently they were board! They had more ropes out than Spider-Man!

Jon, just got back home, wind started about 11am to day. Severn bridge now closed and I've just turned my phone off!

Bit blustery in Cardiff today, mainly street trees with lack of well developed root apart from the lime which had lifted the pavement and forced the police to close one of the main roads off incase it went, felled it on safety grounds. Turned up to a small street tree to find it surrounded by firemen with one up the top with a cordless saw!

Like most have said NFU, got Landy and tipper insured along with trailer and any trailer being towed. As a registered smallholder I get automatic business cover too. It's easier for me to deal with one broker.

More oak limb removal today in Cardiff, it was only when I got aloft I realised how long the limb was.

Dead wooding some oaks above the river wye overlooking Chepstow, the oaks stand on the cliffs some 200ft above the river.

Hi Chris, No artic or forwarder access all wood stacked at various locations so I'm shifting it my self. I could use the weigh bridge at the local gravel yard but it's a balls ache! The timber from west wales never materialised! I left countless messages and emails but nothing! -

Well originally I wanted the Landy tipper to deliver logs etc, but seems I've got a 110 and a 3.5t trailer on reflection a nippy little truck seemed the way forward.
