  1. Go on how many of you out there spend hour's of your lives playing with your fires? You know what I mean rotateing and choosing each log and unessary pokeing.
  2. Yea thats what I thought to - shame looks a good bit of kit to me.
  3. Congrats mate feels good dosent it.
  4. If your going to be just poping the trousers provided on over yours then wear light wight type trousers and a top you dont mind getting saw dust and chain oil on. As for the huskys at nine layers they will be very heavy I had some nine layer stihls and they where far to hot in winter and a nightmare in summer, also they dont look like they have any stretch in them so would be hard to climb in - aaahh memories makes me remember how good the hi-flex really are.
  5. Just seen this on the bay surely this must be illegal? If it's not It should be, IMO it's giveing cowboys a helping hand. arborist/tree surgeon nptc sticker chainsaw on eBay (end time 06-Oct-10 20:24:20 BST)

Going tomorrow and I cant wait for it.
  8. Also I'v just read your hat post I'm sorry to say £120 dosent get alot of saw even second hand is this your whole budget or the price of a saw you have been watching?
  9. You wouldn't go far wrong with a stihl 361 mine's taken a hammering and is even still running with a crack to the back section of the crank case after a swing that resulted it needing a new flyweel, as for bars I run a 16 and 20 on it but have heard of others running up to a 25 I doubt if it cuts very fast with a bar of that size but it can be done. What size timber do you expect to be cutting with it most?
  10. Chainsaw safety clothing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Hope that helps.
  11. I'm about 6 ftish not been mesuered for some time and strangely seem to have had growth spurt recently thought I'd stopped all that growing nonsese but ho hum, I was 16 stone last I looked and it dosent really slow me down except for maybey tip work I sometimes think twice before going out that last couple of feet.
  12. I'v got a tiny little husky 36 that tends to be my small stuff saw had it for years and it's hardly missed a beat, have been thinking about dropping the bar from 15" to 12" of late but otherwise I think it's a great little saw. Sometimes something small and cheap is all you need.
  13. It did but I think it's the 192 in this years.
  14. So far this is all good stuff to hear my smile just keeps getting bigger and bigger Do think I'm going to go for 3/8 chain on it though.
  15. Am currently on silent as I haven't found the original hitchhikers guide to the galaxy theme yet.
  16. I have been given a jonsered 2094 and althought a bit old it seems a sound saw:thumbup1: to me runs nicely and is very clean for it's age, so dose anyone have any experiance with them? For resons unknown to me it's been changed to a 404 chain which I think should be changed back to the 3/8 I beleave it should be, it also has a flat bumper type thing where the spikes should be dose anyone know what the reson for this is?
  17. They told us at college low heat wash in the washing machine in an old pillow case, probs best to do it when the other half's not around tho.
  18. Double figure of eight is a bit better knot than the bowline IMO- it's what I use on my marlow Gecko (no eyes) never had a problem with it or the rope, in fact I'm thinking of getting another when my current one gets retiered get the yellow and red tho much easyer to see when you need to. I know some one with the red and black and it can be a bit to dark to be easy to see at times.
  19. I say Bashlin alloys had mine a few years now and cant complian (might give the velcro bits a go at some point tho).
  20. Yes have noticed several in both devon and somerset all looking a combination of off colour, wilted, rust, and dropping leaves - a result of the dry weather maybe?
