Experienced groundie with Bugnot small tracked chipper / shredder, 750kg trailed chipper and pedestrian stump grinder based near Glastonbury looking for days with or without any of the kit mentioned. I've been doing tree and horticultural work for over a decade and do have plenty of work but it's mostly in Devon and I've had enough of the driving, so looking to build contacts local to me. Approx 4:00 this afternoon the missus thought she could hear me getting home and doing my usual faffing in the garage, when I didn't appear she had a look and found that the garage door had been unsuccessfully forced. I imagine it was only the dog going mental inside that made them bin it. I'm in Street if your in the area lock up guys.

As the title says I'm looking for work in the south west, am based in Street but don't mind travelling. I have approx 10 years experience own kit and hold cs30, 31, 38, 39, felling of larger trees, Woodchipper, first aid, signing lighting and guarding and a level 2 nc horticulture and arb. I'm hard working and reliable with experience in private arb, forestry ad well as some experience of rail work and subbieing to larger contracters, both on the ground and climbing but will happily say I'm a far better groundie than climber (just not that quick). Not entirely sure I'm afraid as the advanceing happened as a result of the key breaking off when the retaining nut came loose. I didn't have time to get a new one so bodged it back on with a locking washer - the flywheel must have shifted slightly when I did it, I wish I knew how much scince your not the first to ask but I've never got round to working it out.

Stihl 361 with 325 chain on 18" bar and 9 pin sprocket. Open exhaust and a slightly advanced flywheel best all round saw I've owned.

Bill crumby at Greentrees Exeter has the latest picus 3 and digital callipers which gives a very accurate residual wall reading. He is very good will do interpretation and suggest recommendations as well. He will often do a reduced mileage charge if he is in the area on other business. Cheers Rory.

Sadly I have done or tried most of the above, will try greaseing the oil pump tomorrow tho. The clutch is fairly new and tight so very unlikely to be the clutch springs but will have a play with the tick over as well just in case. Thought it might be the bearings as I have tried most things allready but would like to eliminate all other routes before going that far as getting old bearings out is one of my least favorite jobs:thumbdown: is there any easy-ish way to do I'v tended to use a bit of heat and lots of tapping with hammer and shift? What ever it is I'v got to get it sorted I'm sick of my saw screaming at me evey time I put it down running. Cheers all Rory.

A while ago my 361 started makeing a sqeaking sound now and then, recently it has become near non-stop the best way I can discribe this noise is like a slipping fan belt. I have given the saw a good clean and replaced the clutch bell and needle bearing as this is the area of the saw the noise seems to be comeing from but this dosent seem to have helped and can find no signs of anywhere that could be the cause- rubbing from parts that shouldnt contact ect. The noise only happens when the saw is on tick over not when being used and not allways if the chain brake is off but all the time when it's on. I hope it's not the bearings , so any other ideas would be gladly received. Many thanks Rory.

I'm from glastonbury and I'm astounded that it has survived not due to the hacking it received (however importent a thorn it may be it's still a thorn and we all know they can take a beating) but the poor thing has been soaked and coated in so called healing oils, potions, herbs and the like by so called healers and druids. All well meaning I'm sure but if the thorn had died I would have attributed it to all this muck being dumped on it before blameing the damage done by some mindless vandal. Mind you the poor thing had been all but pulled down by the countless charms and ribbions tied to it (tight to the limbs with non bio-degardable matierals I might add) so it seems to me that sad as it may be the best thing for the thorn would be a big fence so nature can be left alone with out the interfering hand of man where it's not needed and protect it from both vandals and clueles do gooders alike. Rant over.

Yeah fitted a few with no problems so far and as above for the cost you'd have to fit lots to match the price of one OEM part so I will continue to use them.

Cheers for the advice Blazer the 280 dose feel to me like a saw with plenty to give I shall add a new 8T sproket to the things to do to it, can I ask what size bar you run on yours?

I was to give a hitachi saw a go? I have the chance to get myself a couple of these at a very good price but have never used one or know any one who has but have used some of the power tool range which I couldnt complain about, so if they are any good then I might be tempted to add one to the collection. So has anyone used one or know anything about them?

1. Glee dont get it dont want to, cant wait to look back and wonder how it kept going so long. 2.Any soap or reality tv you care to name. 3. I cant remeber the name but its another we buy any car type firm but with danceing giant penguins that act more like those awful tellytubbie things uset to. I'm going to stop ranting now as my spelling is getting worse as I'm also mid verbal rant about defra.

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. I like the saw but am not keen on the sloppy AV's, might see if I can make some thing out of a soft rubber or solid foam type thing like they use for the forward AV on the 361 to stiffen it up abit, could deal with a few extra vibes for a saw that dosn't feel like it's folding in half when I use it.

Didn't think I'd explaned very well what I mean is, in the picture there is a pin to the right of the anti vibe that pokes in to a recess oppisite it and I'm sure there sould be a rubber mount or something like it there as when the saw is used it seems to have far to much flex to the point of the anti vibe pulling out of place. I may just make something to fit and see if it feels right

For barrel cleaning I use wet n dry paper with a fine oil, it can take a while but is very hard to go to far this way and dose give a good finish.
