  1. 990 implematic? Or different model
  2. Yeah the manifold. Maybe it's exhaust valve seals that are knackered I dunno. Yours has a loader on too, does it do much else other than splitting? Mine suffers through lack of work.
  3. He said an hour to an hour 15 mins
  4. Do you have trouble with it blowing oil out of the exahust?
  5. That's with 2 of us m8 1 loading table up and moving stuff so 1 man just stands there splitting, can actually feel my brain cells dying doing it. Rubber boots around gear sticks are bad for letting water in! Was a new pump, tbh it was really easy to do, I had trouble finding a gear with a tapered shaft to fit on the new pump as the old 1 had a straight shaft. Had to take some shims out of the relief valve and got the psi back up. Does your run a hydraulic splitter?
  6. Nawt really, it's in nice condition for the year, has being worked not a show machine. I've put new hydraulic pump on serviced it etc we can split 10 ibc crates a day with it. I need to sort something ASAP.
  7. Log splitter is ruining the little david brown, bores are glazed, it's spewing so much oil out, shame to ruin it.
  8. That's nice, a shame to get it dirty with mucky old logs.
  9. Not 1 person can answer that!
  10. Describe a meristem... A group of cells in a tree where cells divide, primary or apical meristems produce elongation of branches & stems, secondary or lateral meristems increase mass, girth. 2 types of lateral meristems 1 cambium split into xylem & phloem xylem inner phloem outer, cork cambium produces periderm or bark. In a nutshell is that right.
  11. 2 men 7 hours 1 van load of chip & 5 load of logs ringed up and off site crash and bash was best way, nowt to damage, no point adding a few more hours lowering just to save 50 pence worth of rough grass
  12. 1 good thing about good old david brown no electrics everything is mechanical and can be fixed with any1 with common sense.
  13. I am going to keep it, it only cost me £1000 including tipping trailer, had to put a new hydraulic pump on and service it. its paid for its self with the logs its split already just not very versatile, i just think that a telehandler would be tied to the yard and of no use in many other situations! tractor and loader on the other hand...i can borrow a big tipping trailer as and when which would be handy on big jobs with lots of chip/log 1 load instead of 6 van loads!
  14. The height of the mast would be an issue for getting in the sheds I think. Dilemma I have is do I get a telehandler that is great at lifting and moving but not much else, or a tractor that can do a lot more.
  15. Would be no good m8 yard is too rough
  16. what yard machine. We have got an old david brown tractor, cracking machine for its age but it's not really suited to light duties in the yard. Need something to power the splitter, move stuff around pallet forks bucket etc. Seen aMassey Ferguson 5455 with front loader would be useful on site on larger jobs.
  17. I have got 1' tbh haven't used it in a year but will be getting hammered shortly. It does the job shove a log in and cut it.
  18. Almost, got called away to fix a leaking sink! will have it sorted tomorrow i hope. Banished to the garage now while her friend is here so i can make as much mess as i like
  19. I got granted an O licence on the basis of running a canter, far as i am aware canter can carry more than izuzu which is whats important. Mechanic told me izuzus are cheaper to run than mitsubishi and less to go wrong. Think Mitsubishi can legally carry 4 tonne if you get the 7c18
  20. fixing stuff then breaking stuff and fixing again, climbing on house roof putting more tiles on the wind keeps blowing off, dropping logs off....then its sit on my arse and get fat time.
  21. Why the crazy price though?
  22. Thats really strange, says he had an accident maybe a knock to the head would explain the ramble in the second ad
  23. Phone number? where are you looking?
