  3. Set the posts with the panels in??? we did a log run in bad wind a while ago and decided to lift the panels in after! had to set tower scaffold up to get them in! they were 6 foot and really heavy, i could lift them but as soon as they were halfway up i was getting pulled off the tower! took 2 of us
  4. Sharing is a bad idea m8, we have done it before and it starts off all hunky dory then stuff starts going walkies. people leave their **** in your way seem to spend more time trying to find your tackle!
  5. Must have being a big branch
  6. You can park it off road at home but, the operators centre has to be advertised in local papers for a period of time with no objections "even if people object does not mean they can stop the operators centre going through" you must have clear lines of site whilst pulling out, enough room to drive in turn around and drive out, im not saying they will allow you to park an 8 legger on a drive designed for 2 cars, but say a 5.5t iveco "similiar size to a transit" then yes. this comes from OLMC in wakefield they applied for my operators licence and operators centre at our yard, there is no guarantee vosa will grant you permission to park at home, and it will cost you either way but unless u ask you will never know.
  7. You can keep it at home providing its a registered operators centre, the bit they get you on is you must be able to drive straight in turn around and drive straight out . This came straight from the horses mouth and is what i am going through at the moment.
  8. What is the gvw of a mog? payload? train weight? i assume this will depend on the attachments or model?
  9. Cheers you seem clued up on them. the more i learn about them the more i can see why people like them.
  10. Sorry if this sounds dumb but im new to this mog business, is that so it can be registered as agricultural? how can you class tree surgery as agriculture though
  11. Down the side of the house...i would rather sleep on all my tackle. vosa would have to approve this as an operators centre then???
  12. By having it on an o licence does this restrict where you can and cant park it over night same as hgv?
  13. Whats the running costs like? fuel, insurance etc. Do they need constant maintenance? roughly how many cube of chip can u get in the box?
  14. That's not really an issue with neighbors, we only have 1 ...Is it true that they cost an arm and a leg to run?
  15. Am i right in thinking that you don't need an operators licence? can park it at home?
  16. Are unimogs really that versatile? we do domestic & small scale site clearance, i need a bigger vehicle than our transit, over 3.5 t is no issue because i have class 2 and c1 +e. If i upgrade to a wagon im still stuck on road but my carrying capacity is better, or do i go unimog and go on and off road?
  17. do roof cranes come factory mounted? or are they an add on? and are all roof mounted cranes rear steer too?
  18. How u mean?
  19. What that man said...how can you expect somebody to give you a figure without any info? i wont quote without seeing the job in person
  20. Where is the best place to look for used forestry tractors & large pto chippers in the uk
  21. Looks like a loading shovel in the pic??
  22. From what i have seen of the brand new ones flimsy plastic everywhere, everything is electric, they look too good to use as a work vehicle. i reckon less is better with a work van it drives to site does the job then drives back. ive seen transits with 200 thousand on the clock and still going.
  23. If its running fine then why sell it...newer models look like they are made of cheese
  24. How did you get into site clearance? thats a lot of money to lay out...but i suppose everything arb related is
  25. I like to do stuff myself tbh, i don't like relying on other firms and their gear. plus i like shiney new machines
