  2. as above,,costic soda tank,,,and then jet wash,far easier than hot air gun,nitromoors route,,,
  3. yes terrible news,,hate hearing about bike acciendents,being a biker, all the best to your and those effected.
  4. good pics alec,,,handy bit of kit that chainsaw/bandsaw,,
  5. have coated a recent bench in the letonkinios yatch varnish,,and as a durable finnish,vu resistant,,sure its fine,feels a little rough to the touch but is easy to apply, on anything I put in doors I use chesnut foodsafe oils,,love the finnish,and its organic,and safe,,,, on the bench I just made,,used liberons furniture oil,,,,seems ok ,,easy to apply,,but only time will tell,,,it says it repells uv light etc,,,but wouldnt you if you where trying to sell a product,,,I presume theve done some research,,hopefully so for £17 per litre,,

Ian for 13 yrs I didnt have space,,then things happened and I rented a bigger space, sub-let some out to two other woodrelated businesses, and we all get on and they make the space viable,and three of us have space we otherwise couldnt afford,,,,then,,you fill that space,,and find you need more,,lol

  17. :thumbup1:hi Ian, I tend to either mitre my mirrors then glue and biscuit joint the corners, my biscuit machine isnt fancy , cost no more than a drill, but comes in handy for jooining smaller boards together if i want to make toy boxes etc,so worth the investment, and the other way i do them if dont want mitres,is the same as you ,half lap and dowls,using different colour dowls to make a feature,i have some rounding planes to make any size dowl i need ,so its handy,,, your mirror is sweet,so carry on mate,,,

  19. I` m the same stephen,,,crash anything from 8.30 onwards and wake up for the 4am lie in bed and think of all the things I need to do today syndrome,,think sod it,,get up and then forget everything,,,lol,,,,cup of coffee and arbtalk,,,,bingo!

If Im honest,,take away the sheer delight and satifaction of milling your own timber,,,but having spent money on a big saw,,the cost of the alaskan, fuel,chain costs,etc,,sometimes wonder if its better (less rsi)to buy softwood beams? Now if your milling a lovely piece of yew in the middle of nowhere and have an arbtrolley to remove it,,,,different story,,,
