  1. There is nothing to stop the shop from making its own conditions of sale or refusing to sell you one or simply asking you to leave their premises if you look like a muppet.
  2. If you open up the link David posted and then open up the related link on the same page there is a aerial video taken of the site from all angles. Shows a lot more of the tree and surrounding.
  3. You could always cut out the hassle and search gumtree Belfast. There,s loads of lads doing hard and soft would at the right money for bulk on there.
  4. Problem is I wouldn't know where or how to build a website and maybe greenmans like me:blushing:
  5. Zubat's for our guys. As has been said it's only for light stuff so hinge isn't an issue. It also has a nice we roller thingy at the mouth of the holster which allows the blade to roll into the holster without sticking - and as for the shinny bit - Nothing wrong with a bit of Arb bling
  6. Mason chippers have a couple of 220mx,s. a bit more money but they,ll be completely rebuilt, sprayed, the works. We got a 200mx of them last year and it was like new.. Countrywide freight in Mallusk will bring it over for £150.
  7. Nice and shiny. Keep it good.
  8. Found it - The Alzheimer's Association- The leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care and support, and the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research.
  9. Myth 4: Drinking out of aluminum cans or cooking in aluminum pots and pans can lead to Alzheimer’s disease. Reality: During the 1960s and 1970s, aluminum emerged as a possible suspect in Alzheimer’s. This suspicion led to concern about exposure to aluminum through everyday sources such as pots and pans, beverage cans, antacids and antiperspirants. Since then, studies have failed to confirm any role for aluminum in causing Alzheimer’s. Experts today focus on other areas of research, and few believe that everyday sources of aluminum pose any threat. I got this from a website, I just can't remember which one - now where's my aluminum mug gone.
  10. Thanks for the info. I keep getting asked for your updates
  11. It was reported in the south a couple of weeks ago. Co Leitrim around the 23rd Oct
  12. Well Ferguson did you buy it? I was driving up the road to Larne earlier today and I spotted it on a lowloader with a couple of tractors also on board heading for the ferry port for Scotland. Someone has got a new toy on the mainland:001_smile:
  13. That,s more like it. Around 350-500kg a m3.
  14. I have to say, putting in those extreme hours, travelling and being an active tree surgeon - I,m the same age as you and I don,t think I could do it. Respect to the Fox.
  15. The trailer may be strong enough, but the hitch isn't,t rated for anymore than 3500kg load normally. Also the floor and cross beams would need to line up with the point loads in the machine or the floor tends to dip.
  16. I know what you mean. It,s not a route most take, its almost a bad word, but it is still an option for some. My "grant" was £3.50 a week more than the dole would have been, so I guess my incentive to take the grant wasn't massive. It,s a bit like borrowing money to buy machinery. Some people say you should save for it and then buy it when you have the money. Others finance all the way. Personally i think like most things, There is middle ground. You meet all types in business, but most of them are driven or have various levels of drive and will source money where ever is best for them at that time. Your local development agency is a good starting point. Lantra also has access to grant finding facilities.
  17. I didn't realise there was anything wrong with looking for grants/funding. And as for finishing college and starting straight into your own business - go for it. It worked for me. I started with some money I,d made at college and a £2000 grant paid over a year. If you,ve got what it takes you,ll swim, if not you sink and go a work for someone else if you want - at least you,ve had a go. I think you thread just shows you are exploring options and checking things out per-start. Nothing wrong with that. If you are from a farming background there are grants for training available and machinery over here. Your local council development agency can often help as well.
  18. Road speed is around 30kph. You used to see them nipping along the roads between sites. http://www.kanetrailers.co.uk/history-8
  19. I think that was manufactured by the Kane Engineering company that make most of the big agric trailers we see around these parts. Haven't seen one of those about for a while. There used to be loads around in "Kane" blue. Very solid bit of kit and the best thing about them was they are built to an agricultural spec and can be fixed and worked on in any workshop with a box of spanners and a good welder. You won't go far wrong although the price is a little high unless there is a warranty with it. Last one I saw going through an auction in Belfast was about £1500-2000 mark although it wasn't running right.
  20. That is a truely beautiful creation. The curve on those arms is something else.
  21. Lovely clean bit of kit and it just goes to show what a two wheel drive will tow if you know how and where to drive it.
  22. Last week, I weighed our 2008 Transit 350 MWB with a 4ft high alloy tipper body. No tools, 1/2 tank of fuel and no passengers. just over 2400kg empty I love to know what a Iveco Crew cab with the standard steel body weighs in at - must be close on 3T and the standard cab with a steel body tipper can't be much less.
