  4. thats really interesting stuff nick, only my 3rd yr of making hay but each year i could sell my little bales 100s of times over. alot of contractors around here have moved onto small heston size hay bales, which may be ok for yards with a loader etc but i think there is still a huge market for good small bale hay. I could of sold 2000 small bales to Isle of White last year at £8 a bale, shame I didnt have a shed full!
  5. I baled my hay and the heavens opened just as the baler pulled out of the field. they have sat in the field stacked loosely in 8s now for 10 days, might get them in tomorrow if not combining. hay was not really dry when i baled also oh well, only make a 1000 for the girlfriends horses, she can have it cheap or get £7.00 a bale from down the road!!

  10. i no just what u mean!! we generally cut early as we grow some early maturing barley and we put muck on afterwards and like to get a chit to spray off before drilling rape. works very well in our system
  11. real was low as straw was still damp and i was struggling to feed in going very slow. was better once things shone up on header and the sun came out, sped up and fed much better. yeah blockage behind roters, so wacked emergency stop. dont worry i didnt waste anything, went straught through when i started her up again
  12. possibly and that is probably right, but if anyone is cutting already and having to dry it they need to hang fire for a bit!! got another 2 months to be throughing red diesel at dryers
  13. i use to work for waitrose and use to hate the people who use to linger around waiting for me to reduce things. to get my own back i would put reduced stickers on items with a reduced price that was more than the original, and the people that use to buy it just cuz it had a red sticker on hahahaha
  14. I may be wrong egg, but very doubtful any one is cutting tonight, not unless they escaped the rain rest of the area had today and yesterday?

  24. If i had time to keep a flashy pick up clean i would love to have one!!! Dont get me wrong, I take pride in my trucks as I am constantly on customers drive ways and land, but a flash navara or hilux is not suitable to my job or lifestyle, infact I would get laughed off some of my customers farms if i turned up in a brand spanking new chelsea tractor!!!!
  25. not when your afraid to get in dirty or cant tie anything down properly
