  1. Cheers mate, I'll see how he gets on. Who knows, you may get a picture like John Hancock's from a few years ago
  2. Oh, and the pheasants are enjoying my dad's bird feeder:lol: They've got a feeder at ground level but they soon empty that so they tend to gather and have one on top to knock it all down for the rest, counted 13 stood there together the other morning.
  3. I found this little fella in the yard a few weeks ago, I think he'd hit a window and was stunned so I picked him up and held onto him for a while. Ten minutes later he suddenly perked up and flew off. Over the last few weeks it's been hanging around and getting really close, even to the point where he was sat on the step of the landy while I was fixing the mudguard:biggrin: A little bit of time and seed and he was eating out of my hand, gonna pick him up some mealworms tomorrow and see how he gets on. I'd really like to think it's the same bird. The one from today still seems a bit dopey so similar charateristics! There's three other robins that frequent the bird table, and I'm pretty sure he's not one of them.
  4. Certainly was Jon! If it carries on I'll be out again this week:thumbup:
  5. Thanks, got a funny vid too:lol: Did a backflip off the sledge shortly after that photo was taken. Amazingly I managed to convince my 3 year old nephew to ride the sledge behind the truck on his own, boy has he got some gusto to do that! ps. don't tell the health and safety brigade:post:
  6. Awesome share mate! Thanks for that one. Were you replacing old props or installing new ones? Did you follow any kind of formula towards positioning? The propped chestnut we looked at a few weeks ago had some failures, the most interesting of which, i thought, was one about 1ft after the prop.
  7. Snowing again here and getting heavier, already got 6 inches on the floor mostly left since Wednesday's downfall. Drifting a little where it hasn't been touched, starting to be deeper than my boots. All fun though:thumbup:
  8. I hope so. Most of the new stuff here was overnight, not much of today's has settled, though it's been fairly constant throughout the day.
  9. No, Goodrich AT's. My dad has AT2's on his navara, seem fairly tight for a truck that is so back end happy Cheers:001_smile:
  10. Beautiful! Been out most of the day helping friends and family get about/go shopping. Pushed a BMW out of a car park earlier too
  11. That looks like one I knew of that was quoted for a few years ago round your way and never got done in the end. What's the reason for removal?
  12. 5/6 inches here and been snowing lightly all day. Didn't go to work as it was long distance today so been running errands, doing shopping for others and running people around. I love it, bring on more snow! Now going out on the greenlane to play:001_tt2:
  13. Should be all sorted for the time being, thanks for all the replies
  14. Boo! It's only a few days a year, I love it! Bring on more snow:D
  15. You said that yesterday and we didn't get any:001_tt2:
  16. And this from someone in the know
  17. More likely me just being picky, sorry:blushing: Few more searches on true blacks only really come up with saying that they're characterised by leans and/or curved stems. Nothing particularly conclusive so far.
  18. When?
  19. Quick stab on google got this; The Woodland Trust | Tree guide | Wild black poplar Be great if you could it looks like a grand day out:thumbup1: Looks more like 14 circumference to me, making it about 4 1/2 ft dbh? Might just be me though:lol: EDIT: Adam's iphone clinometer proved fairly accurate when compared with the tape, so if you've got the same it shouldn't be far out
  20. Looks a beauty, you sure it's 14ft dbh though? There's only one way to find out it's height...any chance of a climb?
  21. A couple of lads did though... I'll ask Ian and see what we can do, watch this space. Can get you on the uni if you fancy that too mate
  22. They're not really comparable though, a hand ascender has limited use, whereas the wrench is on all the time. Looking at it that way the wrench is far more valuable imo:)
  23. That's Montana Dave's setup, - DMC on here. I think he's on the hitch hiker now
  24. You're paying for the design, testing, concept, several prototypes that were made before the release. Then there's a but of profit for isc, presumably a bit of profit for Kevin. Then there's the VAT. All in all it's not expensive when you consider what it does and what it took to get it to the stage it's at:)
  25. You'll love it mate Now you have to re read this whole thread before use, manufacturers recommendation:lol:
