  1. What grapple do you use? I currently am use a uniforest 35e to winch and skid larger logs but have considered a skidding grapple.
  2. I have a 2005 and I get about 22 mpg and 12 when towing.
  3. What's the capacities? I had a look at the website but can't see tow or train weight. They'll have a missed a trick if it's not got a 3500kg capacity IMHO.
  4. My trailer with high sides is around 800kg amd I use the estimate of 350kg per cube for fresh chip. That brings me to my 2700kg-ish.
  5. An issue to consider is the tow weight. I have an ifor tt85 with high sides and it'll only hold 5 & 1/2 cubes before you are over payload, over towing and over train weight.
  6. I think you need a compound approach. Thin steel sheet backed by ply. Acrylic plastic sheet back by ply as an alternative.
  7. I think an old person is going to be more susceptible to this because of shock to their system and ability to get away. Of course people have more or less severe reacts to stings as well. Hardly a revelation but I think running away is always going to be the best option.
  8. Sounds like a fine set up to me then.
  9. For under 50t a year would you not be better hiring someone in? You are looking at 30k worth of kit from the list.
  10. Indeed. No quite the same but I fitted a new floor on my lm126. I was also disappointed to put something on.
  11. I love that 'new kit' feeling.
  12. Sorry - £6000 is complete relief, sliding scale to £12k.
  13. I'd say it would be classed as light industry of some sort and you are required to pay rates. That said unless you are using a huge amount of space you are most likely eligible for small business rate relief. Rateable value upto 12k and you won't pay anything.
  14. Got to laugh at these ones. Do plumbers get - I've got a blocked drain at my place. If you unclog it you can keep anything you find there as payment? Perhaps my Barber will accept my hair as payment.
  15. Not sharpening for 5 but across a few small saws, a 660 and a processor you get through files in no time.
  16. I've got an electric bench grinder and in honesty I'm not too keen on them. I can get much sharper edge with a hand file.
  17. Anyone know where you can bulk buy files for reasonable discount? I buy packs of 12 oregon files in both 5/32 and 7/32 but seem to get through a pack in a fortnight. I am wondering if it's worth buying a few hundred at a time. Can obviously email around but be good to have a head start if anyone has a contact.
  18. I'd rather you could buy direct from stihl online and they have a full eshop for all parts and consumables. Having to email a dealer to arrange to buy a 50p bolt is daft.
  19. I've bought stihl from a few dealers and I think every time have just been handed a box. I understand the Stihl Policy is more about limiting the competition between dealers (geographical linitations). Personally I think the policy is a nuisance and it does encourage me to go with other brands.
  20. I'd never heard of stockboard but having just google it, it looks like a great product. Just saw 3m by 1.5m boards in 6mm, 9mm and 12mm from £50.
  21. I agreed with Iveco kid, the rates for hire is crazy low if you shop around. I use Hewden for most of my hire and you can get a 1.5t for £130 a week, a 3cx for £310 and a 14t for £600. Annoyingly they just took their prices off their website recently.
  22. Perspex sheets? 4 or 5 mm.
  23. I was offered a free trial on Google ads. £50 worth was used in the first few days and resulted in not one job. Marketing is hard to get right in terms of value for money.
  24. Not that I am on 'their side' but I think banks are damned if they do, damned if they don't. I don't want them calling me and offering me stuff but if I want to call them I want to be able to do so 8am-8pm any day of the week. I hardly ever use a branch but if I need to I want one local to me and there to be no queues.
  25. Spotted this monster on ebay (No affiliation to me ). WOOD CHIPPER 24" All Terrain | eBay
