  1. None taken! I know full well it's knowone elses fault, but my own. I should of photocopied it before hand. Luckily in the application pack theres a part where you give them permission to contact NPTC to confirm i've got them. I'll ring NPTC tomorrow about my Certificates and also ring around other places where they've asked to see it. Unless i find here
  2. There all organised in a folder with seperate clear sleeves, but when i came to get it out to scan it, it wasn't there!! It must have slipped out somewhere!
  3. I passed my 38 and 39 just over about 5 weeks ago and still havent recieved my certificates!! I'm sure my 30/31 didn't take this long? Wouldn't mind so much, but i'm applying for jobs and for the life of me cant find the pass paper? How on earth can i prove that i have got the units until my certificates arrive?
  4. I think that a large group of us should go and steal there trailer homes lol. Hope you get some luck on you side and find it mate!
  5. Cheers buddy! I Found there website and have sent out a CV last week.
  6. I saw this on Arbjobs.com. I'm not experienced enough, but was very tempted to give it a go. But other commitments got in the way Who knows situations change, i may just apply. This has everything i want.
  7. LEICESTER TILL I DIE. Prefer rugby though, But i'm far, far too skinny to play lol COME ON TIGERS!!!!!!!!!
  8. Nah i have a car, But don't have a great deal of money for petrol. Not much as im fairly inexperianced, but i do hold my 30/31/38/39
  9. Not alot! I've only worked with 3 different places. But can offer good refs What i really want is to stay at one place, gain experiance and work my up the ranks within that company. I'm rather loyal like that Threat your employer right and (hopefully) they will look after you
  10. Yeah this is my worry. I've only my PPE and no other equipment, other than an Harness and i ain't gonna fork out anymore money until i know i have got the the job and can cover my expenses, so i'm not making any losses. I've also thought about moving to where the work is. But not really sure i can do that at the moment Times are hard at the moment
  11. Hi guys. How are you all doing? Hope works going well? Right finding a full-time position isn't going alot harder than i first thought. I've been ringing and sending out my CV around my local companies (upto 30 miles from my home address). I'm still waiting to here back from a few and have a lot more to get in contact, but there doesn't seem to be enough work around at the minute for them to take me on full- time. Some of them have said there maybe a few days/weeks work and others have said they'll keep my details for future work. So i'm slowly getting my name out there. My big question is this. Because there isn't work out there, should i Sub-contract and work for many people/companies or should i just keep soldiering on till i find full-time employment? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike
  12. Does anyone know the contact number for Connought at ross on wye? I can't for the life of me find it Many thanks Mike
  13. Ahhh mate. I've just read you 'Moving from Seattle, WA, USA to E. Midlands, then along the M4 (Gloucs, Wilts, Somerset)'. If you do end up moving down around gloucester area, you ain't gonna understand a thing in the most rural areas. I've lived in the Forest of dean for most of my life (moved from bedford when i was 3) and i still can't get to grips with the 'proper' foresters (4th generation+ locals). It's very much like 'ye olde' english I've got the accent and hold my r's. But some of the stuff they come up with is just mind boggling. especially when drunk
  14. Lol yeah i'd forgot them But if they haven't got the skill or knowledge to climb a tree why do it, they'd jut get stuck To answer the thread question. It's easier to say
  15. I know your saying. I think having the qualifications might make some people think they can do it all. (Not throwin any cheap blows to anybody) I only passed my 30/31/38/39 last month and although in there eyes 'im qualified to do the job', in my eyes im not. But thats purely because i haven't got any experience. Experience is everything in this game
  16. Lol. Know probs, i ain't really fussed. Better to know i'd rather spend the money on something else lol. Cheers for the comments lads. I'll spend my money on some more climbing kit and keep the saw for spares etc (if they'll fit, the saws about 26 years old) Mike
  17. My mates dad heard that i was getting into the tree industry and decided to give me a saw he had laying about! It's a McCulloch Power Mac310, in pretty bad nic. No Front handle, Chain Brake handle and the throttle handle is loose. It's pretty heavy and has a 16' bar, But think i'll down size that. I downloaded the manual, given it a quick clean and check up etc and feel its about time i put a bit of fuel in and see if it'll fire up, before i go hunting for the parts i need. Don't fancy buying all the spare parts, only to find that it had no chance of starting in the first place Anyone else ever used one before? Anyone know what cc it is? Cheers Mike
  18. How long you planning to stay? Months, years, for life? My uncle moved to Toronto, Canada a few years ago. I think it took a fair few months for his work permit etc. But he moved over ther permently. I'll have a chat with next time he's on FB. If you like? Mike
  19. Congrats!! You must be chuffed to bits
  20. Lol. Yeah thats my head!! Around here where i live there a group of kids who wear there jeans below there ass. Its Sick, but it is a laugh seeing em try to run
  21. I'm looking for work around the Gloucester/ Forest of Dean areas. Ideally i'd like a permant position and can offer a 'Recruitment Subsidy' of £1000 and extra help for in-work training, worth up to £1500 which is provided by the Jobcentreplus. But i will also take temp offers. I currently hold my NPTC Units CS30/31/38 and 39 which i've passed within the last two months and am eager to learn and obtain more qualifications within the arb industry. I also hold a full clean driving licence and have my own PPE and climbing Harness. If you can make any offers or would like some more information please PM me. Thanks for reading, Mike
  22. Cheers guys. I'm wanting to become self-employed and have plans to go over to canada at some in the future to work with my uncle (He don't climb). So i think i'll just stay clear of my hands and neck as i'll most likely end up meeting customers in the future. But again cheers
  23. Yeah i see you and the others mean. I like to believe that i'm a nice guy and am approachable (Although i do have my moments:blushing:) But yeah, i suppose that some people will instantly be put of with false conclusions they've came up with just because of my tattoos. I think i'll stick with the ones i can cover up.
  24. Now i'm a man who loves my tattoos and have several myself. But i want to now what you guys thought of them and would you employ someone who is heavily tattoo'd that show i.e. Hands, neck? The reason i ask is because because i'm planning on getting my hands and the side of the neck done, i'm gonna ask my employer what he thinks first. But obviously don't want to ruin any future job oppertunities should i move area. Also to all you freelancers/ self employed who are tattoo'd. Do you sometimes have any difficulty getting work because of your tattoos? Cheers, Mike
