  2. there should be a cash penalty for starting a 'husky v stihl' thread on here. i'd go for 036. dearest dealer is good advice, might want to consider stihl if your thinking of buying more tools in future, there maybe a stud or bolt thats interchangeable and thats the difference of being able to field repair to get a job finished.
  3. no, they'll be fine.

    what lengths, widths etc?

do you fancy a shot on mill?

  4. hey man!

was wondering if any of that wood is millable.

if so, give us a message.

im in edinburgh and could come and give it a wee lookover, bring the mill, give you a go too, if you like...you'll want one when you've had a shot!

  7. he thought he looked like a pikee on it so hes swapped it for a monkey bike!
  8. i hire off gus, that 12 incher is a hit manly for my current needs! he only hires that with a man too. had a funny one with bostock last year. he got a new truck and it woulndnt fit under an arch, so we hooked up the bandit to my landrover. some of the chip stayed in!
  9. not allowed round edges either- thats their running track. but i would be interested in yr wee tractor for poss future stuff, you havent a tracked chipper btw? p.m. me with the price for tractor.
  10. edinburgh academy. really soggy feild, landrover was banned! Andrew Jenkins had a look at this one too, he didnt like the idea of it climbed either. got another tommorow, 75 foot and sitting back, well back, we've skinned it, and waiting for no wind, pulling it by hand ( 5 men!)
  11. that certainly is one rotten beech. like the big stuff up top taking lower ones out, ' 2 for 1' ! didnt find many surgeons that wanted to climb the poplar, lots of lip curling!
  12. 2nd vid of tree. once felled. (sorry swearing) [ame] [/ame]
  13. had a rotten poplar to take down, no vehicle access, now chance to get a mewp in. v. dodgy to climb. decided to skin off as much as poss and fell over the top of the other trees. the trees in front are sycamores but client wanted to keep them as area going to be a woodland education centre. we just made it over the top of them, sycamores infront lost a couple small branches. 65foot poplar, 1st vid of fell. 2nd vid of felled tree and rot. ( sorry expletives on 2nd vid) [ame] [/ame] YouTube - Treesonky's Channel

  19. cos, today i didnt kiss any boss'es behind in an office. today turned up late, hung about with a kiwi and a glasweigian in a feild, had some smokes, took the piss out of each other. then did this.... (and went for a curry after, whilst most folk were still in the office.) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eNw6RwPcms&feature=autofb]YouTube - Tree felling, Edinburgh[/ame]
  20. pretty bazzar wording! see at 2:18. i dont know if when he cuts the lower limb, the one above snaps off due to it resting on it, or hes already cut it and its hung up. glad he moved right in... scratch that, it must be cut tis on a funny angle...
  21. ive been in this for 14 years and on my own for 5 years. my business is small too, i have mates with 1 man or 2 man operations localy, who jump in and out with each other from job 2 job, grounding, climbing or being brash monkey. it sounds like your operation isnt too far away from my own. its a generalisation but, i think its a great time to be small and flexible. it does take the stress out of running a business at the mo, well some of it. with respect to the bigger operations, i wouldnt want to be one at the mo. but i think i never would.
  22. read some hemmingway! punished loads over christmas, nice bit of escapism.
