  1. police reckoned it was doing it to order cos its specialist and the 'door fold' is the quickest quietest way. who knows, really! yeh my camper keys open my landy better than my landy ones do!
  2. you do wonder sometimes. ive had a terrible week of such stuff, then got wagon broke into last night and i dont seem to be as bothered as i possibly should be, sod it, eh?!
  3. was in a damn public place, police reckon they got disturbed, that or they noticed my dif lock, locking clasp! it holds them in low ratio, makes a slow gettaway!!!
  4. yup, alloy with galv steel cage sides, taylor made rrack and galv panniers boxes. foley did a good job. typical it happens before the day you really need it.
  5. i agree with this whole heartedly, but jesus, they could give the lad a scwizz of fuel!!!
  6. no sadly not. gonna charge up my camera for monday. its actualy worse than it looks. im considering felling out a couple of sycamores around it, section off what we can and a try felling it thru and over the surrounding trees. (tiny poss gap) dont really want to fell too many surrounding trees, as the area is being converted into a woodland education centre. there wont be much left at this rate.
  7. mondays job... not a great pic but a real stinker.65 foot + Poplar no mewp access, no vehicle access, 5 x phone lines, sandstone walls, new garage (just being finished!) look carefuly, you can see a beautiful trail of rot and dirt issuing forth quite low down, cant climb above that point.
  8. stru has left but not for the alps, hes gone to India for 5 months! not that i would swap damp, cold, misserable edinburgh in january for india, honest.

    knife

opinel knives are great, so simple. carbon steel, like a knife should be, so easy to sharpen. im on my second gerber lock knife if you want something bigger - great quality.
  11. came out to my landy door bent in half and console smashed. police reckon probably being stolen to order as its a specialist / converted vehicle. probabley got disturbed in proccess, parked in a good neigbourhood. happened in South Edinburgh
  12. thats a superb pic of the house and the cedar being worked on...
  13. todays work; tall Robinia, tallest ive worked on or seen for that matter in Scotland. (45 feet) remove branches rubbing off wall, deadwood and take waste thru picture clad house.
  14. great stuff, really did feel dizzy from the movement from the felling shots!
  15. havent read all of this so apologies if this is a recap. make your sister, mate, loved one a company director. put yourself on the board as a junior member or lower empoyee, bobs your uncle your employed, not self employed. you'll need a good accountant or a business adviser which will cost but its worth it if your talking mortgages. i had no trouble getting my mortgage this way, infact the bank never liked me so much when i stopped being classed as a self employed 'gardener' ( the only job description on their system' ) and started being known as a 'professional' ! a case of more bloody red tape, paperchase and hoops to jump. Modern life is Rubbish!
  16. has 'foley' vehicles been invited to demonstrate?
  17. i find my wood sits at 20% for air dried, under cover, but in an open ended barn, in winter. thats on a soggy farm in the cottish borders. ( thats after a year from cutting) and it drops to about 16 % in summer.
  18. quite like a shot on those, there a great one if you scroll down... the 'PM power machinery universal' loving the holes in the bar!

  20. read the alan carr book. 'easyway' it'll help you undo all the self brainwashing you put yourself through, to make you think that you are enjoying it. dont worry its not a self help book. it gives you all the tools and know how about how and why you are smoking.
  21. my parents need a quote for sectioning an ash tree, they live near Linton, and haverhill in south cambridgeshire. there is power lines near two small branches, its not a trickiy job. all material to be left on site. im based in edinburgh so cant do it and have a strong dislike of power lines even tho ive got my tickets! need 2 quotes.
  22. you wont need employment after this rotten poplar Dave, you'll need a holiday!
  23. vinegar, always. works a god damn treat, im an Officianardo of getting stung to hell after strimming tops of ground hives that u get in clay cracks in summer, cutting hives in half on big hedges. followit up with pirittin. my dads allegic, goes into a very scarry Anafilactic shock. you can get epi pens as an emergency fall back if you know your working inan area with high risk and your in the middle of know where...
