  1. a few pics of todays mission,headed as a thread for all,because it has all the forum topics,pictures,firewood,chainsaw,deadwood [which i know some of you love standing deadwood]not a standing deadwood[windblown silver birch]came down,flattened the stock fence and blocked gateway! not the best quality pics[phone camera and getting dark]please note the last pic of a large ash taken through a limb hole,i was trying to be creative

  3. the mint 254xp on e-bay is now on £279.97 with 4days 10 hours to run on auction but he does say in listing you wont find a better one!i must say i have to agree

  5. yes,its a good saw,if you think you can pick one up £150/£200 and they were about £500 new:001_huh: my 346xp superseeds any saw i own,i love it always the 1st saw to put my hand on:thumbup:
  6. funny that bought mine down the pub for £40 :lol: yes its a high price,but you wont find many like that. mine is in OK condition and it was £180 used it today to cut up a large sycamore limb,when it behaves its a good saw

  10. seems ok,with the old dropping down on the pull cord[very much similar compression to my 346]and that runs A1 not been tried on a gague! what you thinking:blushing:
  11. hi girdle i am going to keep an eye on this thread,way!because like you i have a 254xp and its one tempremental sun of a gun:blushing: fires after about 12 pulls,ive also had new plug,cleaned air filter etc[still a swine] after its started,get into a cut and if it feels any resistance it cuts out!sometimes put the chain break on cuts out?? then it goes on a good cutting run,cuts out and is then difficult to start:blushing:
  12. even if they were to do that,would the houses have to be built around the tree,as i heared they are pretty rare now[a south american import] i was reading they are so rare that the trade in their wood was now ilegal:blushing: dont know if thats in this country? was a story of one in swansea@150 yrs old and the la wanted to removed due to the cones/limbs being like a sringe:lol:

  17. i saw this article in a online paper and took a few pics of one,two fields away from me,its in a old sewage treatment plant[disused for many years]the tree was a big bugger when i was a kid[40 now:001_huh:]
