  10. ill admit it i was scared of climbing tree's when i first started, any one who said they where not is BS every climber will reach there limit, Mine was 75ft up a lime tree with a fellow Arb Talker on the ground, Gave him one quick call and he calmed me down and never stopped encouraging. To get as far up this tree as i could. I did get to the point where i said i have got to where i feel happy now get your ass up this tree and do the rest of the dead wooding . Every now and again some one shouting on the ground come on lad your doing fantastic really dose encourage some one With not a lot of talent in climbing tree, You will get over it just takes time I'm 3 years in and still get the wobbles.
  11. For large jobs Yes Depending if you took a tractor and trailer along, this would save the guy a lot of backwards and forwards Yes again if a non-local tree surgeon was in the area and would again save him having to take the waste back. No as 90% of tree surgeons have some form of taking the waste away them self's Chipper or trailer. No as you might no be able to change what another person will charge but that business there will always be some one lower then you. My 2 cent on it.
  12. Im still new in to the arbor, To limit the danger of the tree splitting like it did could you not use a ratchet strap to reduce it so far. To give the feller a better idea on where it will go once it has hit the ground. From the video you only get to see one angle
  13. The 181 and 171 I would say are the same saw to me. I have both and used both no difference. If your up for the challenge of swapping the pots do it, If you a tight git sod it get it over and done with.

  16. Well why you lot have been chatting ive been working, Felled all the tree and grounded out the roots and removed all the waste from above the ground. Day two seen me,2 grounds men and the client all digging the soil and removing anything that looked like a fungus and anything else that we did not like the look of. In the end we planted 2 Tree with a 2meter round base of each tree Filled in with mulch and some new soil Staked tied looks the dogs now. Will try and get the pics of the client when i go and see them so you can all see what we did Thanks for the advice guys
  17. Thank you both for you replies helped me out a lot I was planning on removing as much of the visible fungus and raking over the soil and in a way try to clean as much as possible. As Gerrit has said in his post adding new soil would i be best to add a different type of soil to the ground to mix it up and to help with the nutrient levels. as well as adding mulch or would that help the fungus return and reinfect the area
  18. I have been to look at 3 cherry trees that have all developed Honey Fungus. One removed the client has asked to replace the cherry trees that have came out in the same area with the same species, What are the chances of the fungus attacking the tree and once again have them removed, Is there a way I could tackle the fungus and remove as much as possible, Digging them out seems the most logical way but what else should I look out for as I would like to try and get as much as possible out to avoid this happening again Tom
