  1. I came across a similar one about 2 weeks ago. They are clearing a line from bordeaux to paris ready for the new TGV line. 1000's of woods been destroyed. A bottle of Ricard managed to get us 2 afternoons of free acacia and oak before they needed to carry on with there task. Awesome machine though.

Try cleaning your container out, you might find Shergar in there aswell.
  3. Just had a similar problem with my tow along EC150. Engine runs fine but feed rollers wouldnt take in brash. It turned out to be the coupling from the engine to hydrolics. It had a plastic bush that had worn away which in turn made the steel coupling to wear away. Got a replacement part from Greenmech and after 1 and a half hours use the new ally one has started to crack. Not a happy chappy. Im thinking of getting a new steel one milled. Good luck with yours.
  4. Its a different world in france when it comes to legislation. No TPO or felling licence, maybe a hello to the mayor. The response will be "they are your tree's, do what you want with them.
  5. i had an old kohler k582s on my gravely chipper doing the same, it was the pepper pot exhaust that had melted the regulator rectifier. We also got a new coil and condensor. problem was solved.
  6. wind chill minus 20 in the day on the vienne/charente border. Stiff ropes, numb fingers, bar oil like porridge. Sacked it for the next few days. ground jobs and quoting only. Am i turning into a coward.
  7. Amazed something like that is cheaper. I just bought a 2nd hand greenmech from UK and they didnt look at passports never mind the chipper
  8. What do you expect if you work on the Talibans patch. That is some serious competition. Brilliant
  9. Dont you just love glow plugs... Ive been starting the LDV this week by taking the air filter off and using the wifes hairdryer to blow hot air into it. works every time. Just changed them this morning and started a treat:thumbup: Just got the leaking injectors to do, never mind the page of advisories on the CT. I need a new truck Darren
  10. Can't you get patches for that??????
  11. T35 is lift 3 tonne and pull 5 tonne Darren
  12. I'm registered with the chambre d'agricole as an elageur grimpeur. The insurance is with AXA France. The only clause in it is i cant do landscape work/foundations. Darren
  13. I use AXA for my insurances. 450€ per year for 10m of public liability. All i had to do was show them my quals. Bonne fete
  14. I was trained at Kingswood and the instructors are excellent. I dont think they would allow joe public to walk away with a portfolio of quals. just enough to keep them from loosing limbs or killing folk would be a tick in my box. i agree it is a competetive market but are you really afraid of these people taking work from you. Shep
  15. OR.... buy a uk registered tipper and chipper and run that for a year?????? I am now looking for a UK crew cab tipper and going to do the run back for M.O.T. etc.
  16. Does this mean you have stepped up to SARL or are there are a lots of you on auto- entrepeneur scheme? i might give you a call to pick your brains if thats ok. Darren
  17. I was stopped about 3 months ago on the way home. they checked the usual paper work then asked if i was registered. (siret on the side of the truck gave it away) I had to show them my business registration paper work aswell, i always carry it with me anyway. They seemed impressed with the quals and portfolio, i drove away from them feeling pretty pleased with myself knowing that i am registered and the "dave dix euro" better watch out.
  18. i think i need to do some homework to try and find the loop holes in the system. Do i still get away with it cos i have the UK licence. What a mine field!!!!
  19. i have 3 days there in November. Its 2 hours from me but they put me up for the night and feed us. Darren
  20. One question for you guys, how have you managed registering your road tow chippers? I've delayed the purchase of one until 2012 when the new Europe wide regs come into force. Until then I've chosen to run a CS100 wee chipper and burn alot which is illegal in the summer here. Although I could get round it all with a tracked chipper on a French spec Ifor Williams but thats alot of investment. Cheers Ty I have a UK LDV French registered and tow an old Graveley around. It weighs 748 Kg so as far as i'm aware it doesn't need a ct or registering. I also still have my UK licence. As far as i'm aware i'm all legal.
  21. I am 10km from Civray, most clients keep the wood for burning. i get the odd bit of pine but nobody wants it so that goes to the dump or the bigger bits go on the alaskan. It works out better if they keep the wood. i consider working an hour from home as local so if the client wants the chip and wood taking away it becomes a drama. You will have to pm me his details and say hello on a visit. Darren

  23. Update: Ms 880 coil - £74.40. Cylinder and piston - £352.54 OUCH!!!
  24. It all happens at once. The 880 needs a new coil, piston and barrell (18 month old) and the long reach hedge cutter got through a gear head in 5 months. 18" bar on the 341 seized the other day aswell. LDV needs a new tyre and tracking sorting. What next?
