  1. Thats exactly the case with my dutch barn. Ibc crates stacked three high with the wind constantly blowing through it I can have logs below 20% in two months easy. Which is why I think what alot of what is written here about seasoning is total pooh
  2. Just to clarify. This would be processing arb arisings with a vertical splitter and Hakki Pilke eagle. Payment per ibc crate produced.
  3. To right .... I keep reminiscing about that when the ground was rock solid and everything was dry. It was a pleasure to work in unlike this wet, drizzly, muddy, slimey log enviroment we have at the moment.
  4. I have got quite alot of acacia at the moment and have read on t`internet that it is good firewood. Has anyone got any first hand experience.
  5. I am bogged down with unprocessed timber at the moment and urgentley require someone to process, postcode DE7. Anyone interested phone me on 07500 668866. The last one phoned me at 10.00 a.m. two days on trot to let me know that he would not be in at 9.00 a.m. so no time wasters please.
  6. That is absolute nonsense. Logs of different shapes and diameters make for a more interesting and attractive fire and many people like a round log ( me included ). You just need to enquire what the maximum size of log the customers stove takes and ensure that you supply below that.
  7. Mad mad mad... been seven days a week but no matter what I am having this Sunday off .. and I get an extra hour
  8. Dont ever let one customer make you adjust your pricing downwards, your way way to cheap. If I were you I would increase my prices. I have put my prices up this year and not had one single complaint or failed order.
  9. I watched a James Garner western yesterday afternoon and noticed that all the wood piles that they were hiding behind for the shootouts were eucolyptus

My zip puller broke on two pairs but Chameau`s after sales service was superb and yes I did try the tweed mini skirt with my Dubarrys but I just didn`t have the legs for it so I left that to the other half

Hi Jon ... I have a pair of the Dubarrys and so does my partner so I never get chance to wear mine because we look a right pair of t*ts if we go out in matching boots
  12. You described the work as `alongside a petrol station` so I would think you will be fine with your saws, I think the regulation is 5 metres from any fuel dispensing point or vapour pipes ( although the pipes will be sealed anyway for vapour recovery ).
  13. Find out when tankers will be delivering fuel to the site and whether you will need to stop work during delivery.
  14. Congratulations Paul...its an experience thats way in the future for me but it must be a great feeling
  15. I think its called the walnut whip effect Steve, indicates cold weather
  16. What is the optimum (thats bestest for the tree surgeons ) length of log for making up nets?
  17. I still have the same stack that you never fetched from 15 months ago
  18. She looks a bit young for you Paul ... is it your daughter
  19. Everyone seems to be making the assumption that people have wood stoves installed to save money. A wood burning stove is a nice feature in a house and I am sure that many people are willing to pay a premium (and I am not saying that wood is more expensive over other forms of heating) if necessary for that feature.
  20. Get the basic one on the right for working and the one on the left with zip and leather lining for posing . I used to wear the ones with the zips for working but the tags on the zips can be a bit temperamental with heavy use.
  21. The woodburners are the only things that have ever managed to get my house warm they are what started my obsession with wood
  22. Yep thats the one and the smaller one is the Pioneer 400 ( fantastic little stove ). We want another Vision 500 for the blank wall when funds will allow.
