  1. Like you say Dean... sometimes it takes someone else to tell you how lucky you are.
  2. A few years ago when moustaches and denim shirts were in fashion
  3. Just got home... not from Tescos ... and seen how this thread has turned. I was going to give many more examples of how the hypers are controlling us by manipulating what we buy and blotting out the competition but I think its all been said really And of course its nothing personal, I`m just playing devils advocate Steve
  4. Sometimes you think that you choose to go there but in reality Tescos have purchased every piece of land in the area where competitors could build. Its very easy to say dont stifle success but you have to think of the future consequences ... did you see the sci fi film where a large company owned all the air on the planet ?????
  5. We are virtually there already... Tesco have huge land banks with the intention of stopping competitors building, they control the prices from the farmers they buy from (no doubt they are forming their own farms now to cut out the farmers), the weekly shopping basket is rising in price at an alarming rate. They do target other retailers to close them down..... Once again I am merely stating facts. Not saying that this is right or wrong but you do have to consider the consequences.
  6. Merely playing devils advocate Steve. I have been self employed since I was twenty many many years ago. But after running a retail business during mining strikes and recessions I do understand that for me to be rich others need to have money to give to me and I am a firm believer that there are Chiefs and Indians and if we were all Chiefs it just would not work.
  7. After decimating the High Street of all the small retailers that used to employ the unskilled I see that Tescos now have banks of hand held scanners for customers to total their own shopping so that they will be able to reduce their workforce and retain even more profit. Where will the money come from for the unemployed masses to spend on the services and wares of the wealthy minority?
  8. Joined ... JOINED???? ..... I assumed that you were the founder member and Steve Bullman was just a front man
  9. Did the logs lose the mould after tipping out of the dumpy bags?
  10. I was going to mound the logs in the middle and put a tarp on.
  11. I have been trying to get hold of some crates to stack in a barn that I am building but cant find any locally.
  12. Thanks for the tips. I have got the feet and clips, does it make it more stable if you just use four panels to make a square? I know that makes it more expensive but it has the bonus of helping to seperate different grades of wood.
  13. I have just bought a load of Heras fencing with the idea of forming cubes to put logs in to season. Has anyone tried this and if so do you find that the logs in the centre do dry? A four panel square will hold 25 cube so it seems a nice space saving handy method for seasoning.... I hope
  14. Split up six years ago so I just do as I please ... and its great ... but before I just used to buy them and she never knew the difference between old and new
  15. Canon 1Ds Mk 3 and 1D Mk 2 ..... but I never get chance to use them
  16. I was told by a fit lad in the gym many years ago that the excersise ( dont know what its called ) were you lie on your back on the bench, hold one dumbell with both hands above your chest and then lower it down behind your head then bring back above your chest increases benching weight. From what your benching I would say use a 32kg dumbell.
  17. Poor example there ... the man at Texaco will only be making 2 or 3p on that £1.20 sale before overheads and most of his customers will be on his back about the price .. belief me I`m an expert.
  18. I did 10.76 x 6 and then x .24 instead of 2.4 and the moral of this is always buy firewood after a drink
  19. Unless I`ve drank to much tonight there is about 15 cube there seasoned so 10 ton max ???
  20. Went for this in the end 2006 Ford Transit Van Pick Up Dropside Truck Tail Lift on eBay (end time 25-Jul-10 14:24:58 BST) ... just hope it works
  21. That just looks wrong next to your avatar
