Yes we could do, good suggestion, I have 400 per week + insurance as price from supplier at present for land rover highlift. years ago i worked with another contractor and tied one to the back of a lorry to crown lift bus route! much to the clients concern, it worked well if a little un ? usual ! cheers

I have to cut some hedges in Northampton to 5 m hight and need a highlift able to travel grassed areas to help with this, any one with a Landover or tracked based machine or similar either to hire or operated please give me a call. I hope to start work in the next week or two after the strange white stuff has gone!

  13. we have been using hobbs rope brake all week lowering big Cedar in church yard , if we were getting another I would prefer one with a winch ability to be able to tension or lift material with system

I had an incident a few years ago now whilst working on a housing estate where one of our workers was shot at from an upstairs window of a house, i also reported it to our client the local council, after a few 5 - 10 mins i called again, a rep from council arrived on site still no police i called again and thretened to call the local press and poss 20 - 30 mins after 1st call a policeman on a moped arrived! later a police van arrived and carted the offender off. what chance a... i suppose if we had thumped him/her we would have had an immediate responce
  20. be carefull we paid a lot for various training and certs only to find we could have got 50 - 70 % paid by eec funding for the training. ask your trainers and f.c before signing up for the training , care is is not awarded retrospectivley or send me a message and i will find more details for you, we did forestry tractor, forwarder, flail and som't else cheers J Welcome to Arbwork.co.uk
  21. yes ditto the above 'A C Price Engineering' good place to start poss '400u schliesing' chipper if you can find one. there was an arbtalk member on here a few days ago asking how to convert a frount mount chipper to normal 3 point linkage , if you can find them it might be you could make them an offer they could accept! if i find it i'll let you know cheers J
  22. we did a course with 'ABC Response Training' v.good & work related I recommend it.

I used one at colledge in the late 60's in devon !! was ok as long as the adjuster of the metal strip was tight, ok for straight poles and access to crown ,I cant remember much else , they work a bit like a flip line press down with the foot tightens the metal band against the trunk lift up foot and this loosens the band allowing you to move up to doing it all again, you just walk up the tree. havent seen one for ages, cheers J
